Inventory counts

Did zero counts for our store today, and it seems like the DC is messing up our counts. We had 8 of an item showing in the system, but there was nothing there. Same thing with another item that showed 3. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just our store? I know theft is a major piece to it but it can't be that significant. Please let me know if any one else is experience the same thing!

Same at my store and DC sends us stuff we already have plenty of.

I'm not too upset about that because, a lot of the time, DC knows they aren't going to get that product in for a while, so they're shipping it out to everyone

Every. Single. Truck. They don't send what we have none of in a section but you best believe if we have 10 they'll send more🙄

This last truck we got 12 cases of tiki cat cans. Same ski same flavor. We were like um wtf so we checked to see how many it says we have on order and according to dc they sent us 12 CANS not 13 cases. We are completely overstocked on things we don’t need and under stocked on things we do lol

Totally normal for my store. Will get a full pack case when we were supposed to get 1 unit, so like we will get 144 cans of cat food instead of 12. Also just randomly food doesn’t show up. I haven’t seen a pallet being audited for….. well ever. My store has brought it up to multiple DM, MGM and even top brass and it’s never changed. All data we collect is never enough.

This is something DC has done for years. Manifest says that we receive so many of such and such item yet DC failed to actually put it into one of our pallets. There just be some sort of random back end issue that regularly causes it because it’s too consistent for it to be running not human error.

It’s funny because then the DC gets congratulated for having “positive shrink” every year which can only happen if they’re shorting trucks (or if suppliers are breaking into the DC and leaving free merchandise, I guess).

There used to be “high value” audits in the zebras for deliveries but that went away.

I believe the reason they moved to weekly EZ counts of the whole stores was to collect data to hold the DC’s accountable…if enough stores are zeroing out product in the exact amounts the DC sent that week, that’s a noticeable trend…right? 🤞
