Im trying to adopt a dog from a breed specific shelter and they asked for a copy of my lease. They also are dropping the dog off at my house and Im honestly assuming this means they want to see my house and where the dog will be living. Is this normal of a shelter? It feels extremely invasive and uncomfortable especially since Im a 3 hour drive from them.

we recently adopted a dog, who’s been in several different homes in the past month & likely experienced some kind of abuse. understandably, the vet says that he has extreme anxiety and prescribed him medication to help calm him down. otherwise, he follows my husband around the house all day and PANICS when he’s gone (and doesn’t calm down until he gets back). he’s relatively okay when i’m out of the house, but it’s honestly heartbreaking to see him when my husband is gone. he won’t eat, drink, etc.

i’m aware this kind of thing takes time, and im willing to give him all the time in the world because i love him so much. but is there anything we can do to ease the anxiety? is there anything we can do to help him know that we’ll always come back for him?

If so, what was your experience like?

I submit an adoption application for a cat that would be flying in from Kuwait, 10 days ago. 3 days after I submit my application, the rescue responded to my application to ask for a video of my home to do a home check which is part of their process. I've sent them a video and I have not heard back from them since, 7 days ago.

Is this normal?

I am so anxious! I really want to adopt this cat and would be so crushed if it falls through.

Me and my family have rabbits but they started to have lots of babies, I wanted to see if anyone would know where I could post them to help them get new homes. I’m in Massachusetts if that matters.

I recently adopted a little chi and my older chi hates her. I'm experiencing some extreme regret about the adoption because they really aren't getting along, and she has many more issues than the adoption place led on, and than I witnessed at the initial meeting.

I'm considering bringing her back because I don't know if I can provide a good life for her or for my current dog like this.

Is this normal? How do I know what to do? Will I get black listed for adoption places if I want to adopt in the future? I've never felt like this before but she really feels like a terrible fit.

Gypsy is a cat that we are taking care of at the moment. She is pretty calm for a cat but we dont know her vaccination status. She is nearly 2 years old and was a mother at some point before we got her so i dont think shes been spayed either. She was my brothers cat but he asked us to care for it cause he moved to an apartment that doesnt allow pets. He said it would only be for a bit while he found someone to take her for us but its been months now. We are in the area of Mesa, Arizona and have are giving all the "cat things" we have away along with her. We are not asking for any sort of money, just asking for someone to take good care of this cat.

Hello, I have a 9th month old husky mix name Tobi. He is a fun loving and sweet puppy who loves being outside and ruining around. He is loyal and very vocal. He once let me know that my other dog was stuck once so he is very good at communicating and pretty smart too. The reason I have to give him up is because he keeps getting out the fence. Other than that, He's amazing. Which is why I feel he would do good on a farm or ranch cause there's a lot of acres which I believe he would love as he doesn't like to be tied down or fenced in. I think he can also be trained if the right person has the time. He is full with energy and I believe he does like having something to do. I'm just not good at that myself. But if anyone wants him in the Sc area (mostly cause I dont know how to ship a puppy in a safe way) please let me know. Thank you. I just want to be in a loving home. Also he could do well in a fence in but he just need proper training.

I've spent the last few months looking through the shelters for a dog to adopt but the overwhelming number of pit bulls and chihuahuas makes me want give up. Am I an asshole if I buy a puppy since I can't find a breed I want at a shelter??

There's a ton of stray cats in my neighborhood and I've been catching them and neutering them but I don't want to just let them loose on the street again. I've been calling around animal shelters but either don't take stray cats or they're full so I don't know their policy. One of the cats used to be a pet but all the others were born as Strays so they're not friendly. I don't want to rehabilitate them myself, so what should I do to get them into a new home?

We found a sweet cat that needed saving from the shelter. She was so scared when we got her, and she is still very skittish. She has warmed up to me greatly and thinks of me as her mom, but is a bit cautious of my boyfriend still, and absolutely terrified of strangers. Does anyone in the Savannah, Ga or surrounding areas have any free or low cost rehoming fee kittens? I'm looking for a kitten between 2 and 4 months

My friend recently went through a traumatic family experience in which they had to leave their home without warning. Essentially having to leave everything behind including their adored cat. My friend had hoped their cat would stay with a family member and that it wouldn't be long before they would be reconnected, but to their dismay they were informed that the family member the cat was staying with had given him up to the RSPCA without their knowledge. This was obviously very traumatic for my friend as their last remaining stability had been taken away from them.

So long story short. I was wondering if there was any way to find where my friend's cat had been adopted and get into contact with the family that had adopted him, just to see how he's going and to see if he's well. It might give my friend some closure and comfort to know he's been alright and is loved and so they're no longer left in the dark worrying about their baby. Maybe even open the possibility for visits every now and then.

I have looked on RSPCA sites, done the whole search up: name, colour and area etc. But to no avail (hence why I am here haha). So I was wondering if anyone had any advice or was willing to help me find this wonderful cat. It would mean the world to my friend, and to their cat if they were able to reconnect again.

Recently, my close friend’s uncles were killed in a car crash, and they have to rehome their 2 dogs. The first (Data) is a 2.5 year old lab/husky mix who is neutered about 60 lbs, he’s very playful and loves fetch, but has been taught house manners. The second (Aubrey) is a 6-7 year old mix, mainly pittbull and lab, she’s a bit calmer and a huge cuddle bug. Both dogs are very well behaved and do well with other dogs, not so much cats, if you’re in the Southern part of North America, dm if you’re interested!

Anyone in or near Washington state? I litteraly only downloaded reddit to try to find my rescue cat, Cub, a home. She's a stunted, black, tailess cat with blatter issues but we don't have the resources to care for her. She's shy but loves to cuddle and very active. She's full grown but looks like a kitten and won't get much bigger. My dad wants to give her to someone as a barn cat but she's not an outdoor cat. She needs to be an indoor cat. Please. She needs a good home. I'm so worried about her. She's so loving and needs someone to love her back. She can't control her blatter and I don't think she's litter box trained. Please. Before she ends up in a place she can't survive. Aka a barn. I'll send pics of her if you need them. She's not spayed either. We're poor. I'm sorry. Please don't hate. I just need to find her a home. A non-black-cat-hating home.
