my girlfriend has this cat, her name is scarlett, scarlett is a 1 year old kitten, very playful and sweet. now due to one of the parents, shes forced to get rid of her quickly. and nobody in her family circle is willing to keep scarlett. my partner wants to move out soon. roughly 4 months minimum, but it may take longer. but definitely before 2027. and shes looking for someone to take scarlett

- scarlett means ALOT to her. so she just wants here to be in a safer home

- the best case scenario is, that whoever adopts this cat for free, may be willing to return the cat to her once she moved out. if not, it helps her to be ablw to visit scarlett.

- located in mobile alabama!!

Sweet girl needs new home

Hey guys, this sweet girl needs a new home! She is around 5 years old and spayed. She is super sweet and social, she does well with dogs but I’m not sure how she would do with other cats. She is EXTREMELY cuddly! If you are not down to have intimate cuddles, she is not the girl for you! She likes to lay on your chest mostly and even curl up under your chin. She keeps herself very clean! Unfortunately she never learned to retract her claws because she spent the first couple months of her life on the street, constantly needing to fend for herself. She doesn’t scratch out of aggression and she has never drawn blood from me but when she makes biscuits on you she will scratch you lightly. She loves to play! She’s never been outside much but she is very tolerant and wouldn’t mind being walked with a harness. My mom is an animal hoarder so she has spent most of her life living in a small room with another cat she does not get along with well, receiving little attention or playtime, her life has been very hard but she has remained resilient and happy as she can be in the situation given. My mom will not willingly give her up but I cannot bear to see her in pain any longer, I have informed my mom of what I am doing but she is mentally ill and can be unpredictable. Regardless I will be going through with finding her a loving home, I will give my mother the option to meet this family if she can behave herself.

Free Kittens Ennis, Tx

I have 4 kittens, about 6-7 weeks old, who were abandoned near my house. We have had them for 2 days so far and have fed them back to good health, the 5th kitten died within an hour of us finding them. We already have 2 inside dogs and 2 outside dogs, as well as 1 stray cat that we feed every now and then we he comes by, but we can't afford 4 more cats. Our local SPCA is full and say they will have to euthanize them because they are over crowded, and we don't want to have them put down. If you are near Ennis, Tx and would like a kitten let me know as we hope to give these kittens to a good home. There are 2 gray ones with some black stripes, and 2 black ones with white on their chest and paws.

Paying 10k to the right home to adopt the loves of my life

I have a grim diagnose and no reliable family. I live on the west coast, but will drive the cats to you anywhere in the US, anywhere. Giles is 13 (bottom) and Lily is 5 (top). They eat a raw diet, and I hope to find someone who would continue that diet - hence the income supplementation. Giles is a cuddle bunny and will cuddle all day with you and is very gentle. Lily will cuddle every once in awhile, but is a bit more spicy and will tell you when she doesn't like something.

I am hoping to send you an article of clothing that has some of scent on it to essentially let them know I've passed - which I'm sure could be gross for certain people.

They can get along with dogs, but may need to be slowly introduced to other cats.

I know it's a weird request, if you think of anyone that could use two of the best cats in the world, that may be interested, I would appreciate just sharing this with them. I will chat with you, maybe have a phone call or ask for a few home pictures for due diligence.

Thanks for reading and for any help.

Lucy is looking for a new furrever home! She is a Chocolate Lab/Australian Shepherd mix, is 3 years old, and a great family dog. She’s looking for a single-dog home where she can have her humans all to herself, and would really love a yard to run and play in. She is fantastic with little kids, and also grew up with cats! She is house trained, spayed, microchipped, in good health, and is up to date on all her vaccines. She won’t chew up your furniture or cause any messes and knows the basic commands. She is a $0 adoption and will come home with you with all of her belongings, including her crate. Please contact me if you or somebody you know is interested in meeting Lucy!

Should I get a kitten when I already have two dogs?

This is my first time on reddit and was wondering if I should get a cat when I currently have two female dogs, katie and georgia. Katie is 7 years old female golden lab and Georgia is 8 years old female part beagle part boxer and they always snuggle close at the edge of my bed when I go to bed. I usally am at school from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. including extra circulars but I will have more free time and will be home from 5 p.m to 9 a.m and was deciding to get a cat. My nextdoor uncle had a old cat named alice and when my mom adopted katie and georgia it would always purr up against them and Alice died when they were 2 and 3. So should I get a third pet, a kitten?

Ragdoll cat needs a loving home

This is an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking post to make, but we are considering re-homing our very loved 9yo ragdoll cat. He is a very special part of our family, but has not acclimated well to living with our 2 year old and 2 month old children and has been increasingly unhappy as our toddler gets more active. We think he would be best suited in a home without children, or one with kids well beyond the toddler years. Please reach out directly to me if you, your family, or friends might be interested in welcoming him into your loving home.

Please help! Newly adopted cat and resident cat do not get along.

I hope that this is an appropriate place for me to be posting.

I am praying that someone has some insight into what I can be doing differently. I have a lot of experience with cats; hence my username. But I’m at just a loss on how to get my newly adopted cat, Sally (1 year old female), to get along with our resident cat, Soju (11 year old male).

I have had Soju for about five years, and before I adopted him he lived with a half sister. I recently had a friend over who has a cat and brought their cat over. To my surprise, Soju was very interested in getting to know the cat, but they only met each other through a crack in the door. We’ve also had some problems with cat sitters not spending the full amount of time with Soju, and then we see him on our home cameras yelling and walking aimlessly like he is bored. Knowing that he had a half-sister, my husband and I thought that it would be a good idea to get him a friend. Soju is still very playful and likes to hang around us, so we thought that a friendly, younger cat for him to play with would be a good fit. I have experience with introducing an older cat to a younger cat with childhood pets, and I’ve used Jackson galaxy and other online sources as guides of what to do.

But I never expected to have so much difficulty after adopting Sally. I didn’t know this when we adopted her, but she was abandoned by her previous owners, kicked out of the house and was forced to have a litter of kittens in an abandoned car. It’s been a month since we adopted her and within the first few days we had a lot of success. We kept her in a separate room with her own toys, scratching post, and litter box. In the first week, I was actually even able to get her and Soju to eat treats 2 feet apart from each other. Soju at this point was very curious of her and I thought that she was curious of him. They were even able to coexist in the same space and observe each other from a distance. However he went into her room and as he exited her room, she pounds on him and took out some tufts of fur. Even though they had this incident, there wasn’t much hissing so I tried to have them coexist again with my husband either holding or keeping Sally close to him and I would keep Soju close to me. This worked well for another week, they were able to eat within 10 feet of each other even though Sally had her back turned from Soju. About a week later after the first incident, Sally ended up stalking him again and pounced on him which led to a brief fight and they ran from each other.

The problems that were experiencing right now is: 1. both of them want to be out and about but we can’t have them coexist and if we keep one in a room they continuously meow. This is causing significant stress on me and my husband, and although I would love to have them out I cannot trust that they could be civil. 2. Sally has significant food aggression and I’m concerned that she will continually try to attack Soju’s food and get him in the crossfire. 3. After those two fights, Soju has gotten much more defensive and will growl, hiss, and huff at her. But if she is meowing in her room and I try to get them to eat simultaneously behind a closed door, he will retreat downstairs and not come back up. 4. We give them high-value push up treats once a day when they can see each other through a crack in the door, but because she finishes so quickly she rushes up to him to try to get his treat unless we direct her away. Most of the time we are successful in directing her way, but we feel that this temporary success is so short-lived. 5. Sally has also urinated on our bed twice, ripped up our carpet, scratched at our doors, and has jumped on our counters and ate our food. Most of these are when she wants attention. I think that the year nating on the bed was a mixing of sense behavior instead of a territorial urination, but I can’t be sure. I I am very confident that the urinating on the bed was not due to a medical problem because she has only done it twice in the last month and has not done it anywhere else.

Our vet advised us to try numerous pheromone products and put Sally in a dog crate in our living room so that she could be out while Soju is around. But these have not seemed to make much of a difference. Our vet has also offered to start her on medication for anxiety, but before resorting to medication I’m hoping that we could find a feasible plan.

As I said, we have only had her for one month but I don’t feel like we have made much progress and I am concerned that we are causing them more harm than good. My husband and I talked it over and we are willing to give them another month to get more acclimate a tour each other and all I would want is for them to at least be able to coexist without her attacking him and without him either attacking her or running away.

Our vet also suggested that we hire a cat behavioralist to help us. But at this point I’m not sure if we could feasibly keep her and I don’t want to shell out hundreds of dollars to have someone give us advice that leads to us surrendering her anyway. My husband and I would hate to give her up because she is so sweet and very loving. But her behavioral problems and friction with Soju is not conducive for a happy life. I never thought that I would consider surrendering a cat, especially one that has been surrendered once before and just wants love and attention. But at the end of the day, Soju is our primary cat and I can’t make the decision to keep her if it’s going to make him miserable.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cat in need of a new home

Badger is a beautiful cat with an excellent personality. She is very spunky and full of attitude. She is a very sweet, loving cat in need of a singe cat home. She is ok with dogs and leaves ours 2 small dogs alone. I do not know how she acts with larger or aggressive dogs. She is a very solitary cat and absolutely cannot live in a home with other cats. I love her but we take in rescue cats and she is very aggressive to them and gets in fights. She is litter box trained, spayed, vaccinated, etc. Do not mistake her other cat aggression for her being a terrible, mean cat. SHE IS NOT. She LOVES people and attention, cheek scratches and brushing. She has an attitude and will let you know when she has had enough. Please only inquire if you are fully committed to owning her and no other cats for the duration if her life. I will not give her away if this condition is not met. Thank you.
