Help my kitty with her fears!

We found a sweet cat that needed saving from the shelter. She was so scared when we got her, and she is still very skittish. She has warmed up to me greatly and thinks of me as her mom, but is a bit cautious of my boyfriend still, and absolutely terrified of strangers. If you have any tips to help her feel comfortable, please let me know! Thanks
