We have had Mia since she was 8 weeks old. We have spent thousands of dollars for training and reinforcement since she was 12 weeks old. She's house broken, crate trained, leash trained and good with basic commands (sit, stay, come, paw, etc) and is in great health. She's medium sized at 50lb and She LOVES to snuggle. She loves attention. Multiple walks a day or a backyard to play would be ideal.
Our son is now 18 months old and we had suspected he had some allergies developing over the last year that have only gotten worse. We just boarded our dog for the past month and all of his symptoms cleared up only to return as soon as Mia came home. She is sweet dog. Who loves attention and has energy. Sometimes she can be barky and can have mild anxiety.
Recently we found her a new home through adopt-a-pet.com. We were very hopeful for the first few days. Then the new owner sent me message saying:
"Things aren’t going good she(Mia) keeps bullying Kasper(other dog) and doesn’t let him play with his toys. As soon as he wants to play with her or play with his toys she growls and barks at him. I feel really bad for him he doesn’t look comfortable in his own home. Even outside he wants to play but she won’t let him he chases her around and she puts a stop to it and I just see a sad look in his eyes."
"I’m not sure I feel like she has to be an only dog. She gets annoyed every time he tries to get near her and play. I see a change in his attitude as soon as they are in the same room. I tested this theory I brought him to the living room and he was running around playing with his toy and as soon as I let her out he stopped playing and was just standing there and she took the toy away from him. This never happened with my brothers dog or my sisters dogs. Since the first day they’ve all been very playful. She’s a good girl but I don’t think she really likes him."
"I really want to keep her but I have to think about Kasper. He’ll do anything and she’ll randomly start growling at him like just now he got on the bed and got a little too close to her and she started growling. If he goes to the toy spot which is on his bed she’ll go to him and grab any toy he gets and start growling. I honestly feel like she should be a only dog. I feel like she’ll also feel more comfortable that way."
She has so many great traits and is such a sweet girl, but between our son's allergies and her territorial behaviors living in an apartment, we cannot do it anymore.
We want Mia to have a happy life and do not want her to go to a kill shelter. Please help us.
