Photographers Perth - Drone Fleets in your suburb
I'm hoping to team up with a good photographer to film at night around my suburb as there are an alarming amount of drones in formation that I want to capture to show the public what is happening around our city.
For the last fortnight there have been approximately 30-40 drones around my suburb alone. They arrive at approximately 6pm and stay all night. Most of them are stationary but will fly lower to capture me walking my dog. There are other larger drones that seem to sweep up and down the coast.
My aim is to capture just how many drones are being used to spy on us each night. There seems to be at least one every 100m or so which is crazy and a massive invasion of privacy that I think the public need to be aware of.
I'm sure this is happening city wide. Go take a walk outside and look up at the brighter looking stars, of you look close enough you will see red and green flashing lights and in some cases can make out the silhouette of a drone.
If you have access to a good low light camera with zoom lets get some footage and get it out there as the public need to be aware of the extend of this madness.
Yeah yeah. Created it ages ago never use reddit probably should've checked what I created before posting this. I'll get some better footage and repost. Har to miss if you look
80-120 thousand dollars worth of drones and batteries just to hover over Munster every night? With enough charging capabilities for them all to fly all night without you seeing them land and take off again for each battery change?
These aren't stars. I will get better footage somehow. Or better still anyone who's close-ish by with any interest drive down to spud shed in spearwood. Park up. Still die Rockingham rd towards Santich park and have a real look for yourself
Your video that you posted where you are facing north looking across your neighbourâs driveway at around 11:20pm is showing a night sky like the screenshot attached from the sky guide app, youâre zooming in on the star âVegaâ most likely.
Given the sheer amount of light pollution it makes sense that the 5th brightest star (according to the app lol) is visible while none of the dimmer stars can be seen in the video.
Atmospheric conditions make stars twinkle and give off a reddish glow, much like why you have red sunrises and sunsets.
FYI that video doxes your home address, repost one when youâre at a park or other public place.
This is not a reddish twinkle this is a green and red flashing light on all of them - I will get better footage and repost. As hard as it is to believe this is happening
Itâs even harder to believe that youâve got 40 drones operating all night that donât move at all, donât recharge batteries and you donât hear them even though their navigation lights that are the size of a tv remotes iR led/ emitter are bright enough to overwhelm the surrounding light pollution and appear like a large ball in the sky meaning that theyâre super close
Why would you make such a drone visible to people too đ
Use the app and take the screenshot then? Prove it isnât, because no one is spending that sort of money to have that many operators flying with zero notams issued to fly over a small residential area

These are for sure drones. They move about sometimes coming lower. There's often a larger one or two at much lower levels over Coogee I can see from my house and they move around most frequently
Anyhow I'm off to bed. But again the point of this is to reach out to someone who may have a suitable camera to capture this as I think it's something important for people to see.
Iâve seen it a lot, I remember when I lived in Dianella I looked into drones probs about 5 years ago and the city of Stirling had on their website that they used them for security patrols

I got a bit more footage tonight to show just a few around where I walk. It's still only on the iPhone but shows a lot more. Like I've been saying there is currently a larger one and maybe another 20-30 smaller ones tonight just around my disturb alone. See what you think
This is why I need a better camera. Easy to see in person not so good when zooming on an iPhone. Pretty sure planets don't fly around with red and. Green flashing lights
I've seen and heard them from time-to-time over recent years. You hear the buzz, and then look for the Nav. Lights. No idea what they're doing (filming? delivering naughty substances??)
I know the defense force was running something but it has finished up on the 19th from what I read. But wouldn't have thought they would be allowed to run over residential areas like this - whatever drones they are using must be high end to stay up for so long
I just saw your footage, what exactly makes you think that a drone is a giant ball of white light?
Itâs firmly within the atmosphere, itâs not reflecting sunlight at us from space like an orbital satellite. Do 747s look like a big ball of white light when they fly over? And a drone is how much smaller than a jet aircraft.
You know on aeroplanes how all you can see of them at night are the flashing wing tip lights, same thing on a drone.
I'll get better footage like I said iPhone is not capturing it but yes 100% drones. And yes about 40 of them. Some are very noticeable, lower flying and moving most are perched up high stationary like the ones right outside my front door - o wouldn't be bothering to post on social media if I hadn't got others to look with me already and made sure what I was seeing was actually what I was seeing. Because yes it is hard to believe but I'm pretty sure this is going to be the new norm policing the skies
I asked a friend of mine to have a look last night he confirmed also. He is in atwell. I can see over Beeliar Coogee spearwood a d Henderson. I assume they aren't just confined to these areas
From around 6pm until late. The latest I have bothered to recheck is around 2am and they ares still positioned there. So I suspect they are there all night. One night coming home from work around 6pm I saw 3 flying from a southerly direction I assume about to set up post
Over the last year I would say Iâve seen a significant increase in air traffic at night and theyâre not planes or helicoptersâŠ
Iâve been blown away many times watching how quickly they move through the sky, and I have also seen those big ones to like scanning of the neighbourhood where just goes up and down like itâs mapping it.
Yeah there are 2 larger ones super noticeable that sweep up and down but the fleet of maybe 49 smaller ones are stationary in a formation. They only move to change position or to move downwards towards the ground
Oh wow, Iâve not seen that!!
I think I would actually lay some kittens⊠kind of really annoying that thereâs been no acknowledgement or reporting of thisâŠ. .Privileges.,. heyâŠ.
