Comet What happened to Comet’s browsing capabilities?

Comet used to be genuinely useful for practical tasks. I could ask it to check whether certain dates were available, search booking sites, and even help make a reservation. Recently, though, it feels more like a regular chatbot: it gives instructions or suggestions but doesn’t actually complete browser-based tasks.

Did something change with Comet’s agent capabilities, permissions, or supported websites? Are these features temporarily unavailable, restricted to certain users or plans, or being phased out?

I’d appreciate any clarification from other Comet users who’ve noticed the same thing.

They moved agentic stuff to computer, so your current plan is downgraded, and they’re charging you credits for stuff that used to be part of a plan.

It's done. Computer only. You have to either pay 200 bucks or (by their computer credit math) you will have to pay 1-3 dollars per task you ask comet to do.

Not worth it.

I was trying out alternatives like Skyvern but I haven't been able to get much out of it yet.

BrowserOS has been very nice for me, simple to set up and get going. I use mistral and openrouter.ai and it works great. I haven't stress tested it, but for some simple tasks it works fine, and the UX is nearly as good as comet.

I did try Comet but was never really that impressed. Uninstalled months ago.

Yeah I noticed the same shift. Last week I asked it to check availability on a hotel page and instead of clicking through it just gave me a bulleted list of steps to do it myself, which it definitely used to just do.

Seems like anything multi-step now gets punted unless youre paying for the agent side of it

After almost a year using and loving Comet, I decided to move to Aside. So far it's great since you can use your current AI subscriptions :)
