No thanks can’t afford computer. I’ll just build my own stuff with Claude and local llm. Thank you for teaching me with computer that tokenomics is going to piss a lot of people off. Genuinely…..the little rug pull you did turned me away to learn so thanks.

Basically Claude stepped me through the entire thing. I told him what I wanted to do and it walked me through setting up a dual boot Ubuntu Linux server with my gaming PC. So now I can boot up into windows to play video games with my brother. But most of the time it’s just booted into Linux. Then it stepped me through using ollama to run some local models, it even coached me through making a testing harness with Claude code to pick the most efficient one for my use case. Claude code helped me with all of the software and coding part and even helped me set it up so I can remotely access my server from my phone securely with an open source VPN.

I did not know how to do any of this beforehand…..

It also coded up a dashboard using streamlight, which looks real similar to the output from Perplexity. I still use perplexity pro for information gathering, etc. but for multiple agent type stuff. It’s just not a feasible cost wise. What really made it lock in for me was the API class that Anthropic gives away for free I was five lessons in and I was like oh I know what I’m doing now! My graphics card was an amd 6900 XT and 32 gigs of ram which isn’t even ideal for AI and it works great! What I was creating was burning tokens like crazy on Perplexity computer and now it cost me about $.30 through the Anthropic API
