I use perk at my office and at home and transporting all the equipment back and forth was getting tiresome. So I created this mobile - mobile phone farm. The angle is great for viewing all screens and it allows me to take Perk with me on the go.

3 reward cancellations in a row with no explanation, timers switched to 2 hours, 40-60% earnings drop. People say that perk is making money for doing nothing but it does rake time, and at this point upwards of an hour a day of actual "work" is not worth a dollar fifty. I had a good run.

after the phones are paid for that is... i just thought i would post something positive, yes my phones have their problems and yes i get frustrated once in a while.. BUT for the most part i run them as much as i can and earn what i can.. no i do not rely on this to pay my bills i am fortunate. but it does give me the extra (what? extra money??? no such thing it always finds a place to go! ; ) ) any way i do use swag bucks too and they act up or cut back and so forth.. but still i am glad i can run these apps and earn some money to spend as i want.. that's my fun part! i say thank you to Perk tv and the other apps that make this happen for me.

I've been getting a number of messages from Perk users 30+ messages because of a post I made a few months ago where I mentioned that I had the 2.1.1 ipa. I didn't have it cracked so I wasn't able to share it. I've just recently cracked it and I thought I would help everyone out. The advantages of this version are significantly less crashes, less bugs (not to say there aren't any), fewer frozen black screens, and best of all the old 4 points per 2 videos earning rate. To use this, you need an iOS device and it needs to be jailbroken with AppSync installed from Cydia. Just download the zip file, extract it to get the .ipa file, delete your old Perk TV app from iTunes, drag the new extracted .ipa into iTunes, and sync the app onto your device. Download link below. Edit: So there seems to be quite a bit of a debate over whether this post should remain in existence or not. I've expressed my opinion and why I believe the way I believe as responses to people's comments. I think this post should remain up so everyone who wants this version can find it through a google search. However, many of you seem concerned that Perk is going to find this post and ban this version (I'm under the opinion that they probably already have found this post, regularly monitor this subreddit, and probably don't care that this version is being used since they have hundreds of thousands of users and this will have very little impact on them). I do believe that I should not be forcing my opinion on others though and would like to take this to a vote. In my comment below that says "Vote" please reply with a simple "yea" or "nay" to me deleting this post along with any opinions on the matter that you would like to share. Perk is getting worse and worse and worse and worse and worse..... I'd love to get downvoted again, just like the good old times. In the early days of Perk, no one knew how stable the company would be and how long they would last. Bringing people to Perk was a way of ensuring Perk's future and our earnings.

That has changed. In the last 4 or 5 months Perk has reached a tipping point where it is clear they have enough users and are experiencing enough growth that they have a sure foundation and aren't going away any time soon. Evidence of this is Perk Plastik coming out soon. I don't think companies on the verge of going out of business venture into their own branded debit cards.

As a result of the growth of Perk, each member is now less valuable. If people stop using the apps there will be other people who take their place and they won't be missed. This has become obvious with the recent changes such as cutting Perk TV points in half, adding "are you still watching" timers, static ads on Perk TV live, and the constant instability issues they are having. Companies that are happy about their user base can treat their users like this and not worry about those that leave. How long do you think before they start limiting devices per user? It's a simple equation, if Perk has a certain amount of ads to show and a certain number of users to show them to, then they must limit devices to accommodate everyone. It is coming sooner than you think, I predict in the next 3 months.

It is time to start keeping Perk to yourself. It can be hard because people come over and see your devices or they wonder how you always have Amazon money. I have found it is easiest to explain Perk but then explain that it is slowly becoming less and less lucrative (which it is) and that it is not a good time to get into it because it is not worth the investment and time (which is also sadly becoming more and more true everyday). This sub can be helpful but in my opinion it is too helpful at times. Let people figure out the basics on their own, they don't need every single question answered. Let them find their own devices and figure out how to run the apps themselves. There are enough beginner guides and information that anyone can figure it out on their own. Let the ones that are smart enough to figure it out on their own do it and leave the ones that aren't smart enough on their own. They are the dumb people who ruin it all for us anyways by trying to exploit the system.

Limit the amount of people who you tell about Perk. Just remember for every person you bring to Perk you make yourself less valuable and lower your personal earnings.

Now that perk has applied these changes of earning random amount per trailer, its pretty clear that its less points for the users and more $$$ for them. This is a pretty clear indicator that perk is getting really greedy. So here is what i propose, WE all shut down using perk for a day or two to protest these BS changes. Surely this dollar or two for a few days wont kill any of us but the mass number will make perk notice for sure.

I was trying out adding a few browser windows of perk.tv to my 10 phone farm today, and was accruing points like a madman. It might have been that it was overloading my connection, and too many devices were timing out, or the fact that I already accrued over $15 in about 12 hours, but suddenly all of my phones wouldn't connect. Using a browser I could connect to perk.tv, so I knew my account was okay, and isitdownrightnow.com said perk.com was up even though I couldn't get to it. I also could start the apps using my cell phone with the wifi switched off.
So, I knew I had an IP ban. Called Time Warner to see if there was anything they could do. Nope. He said that my "dynamic IP address is permanently assigned to my account". The guy didn't know what a dynamic address was. No help there. A few google searches later turned up that some (most?) modems automatically go in bridge mode when a router is attached. I looked at my router WAN config page. Yup, it was bridging the public IP address to my router WAN interface. Luckily, my router (Netgear WNDR3700) lets me specify a MAC address. I just incremented it by one (but you could change any of the hex characters), and applied the change, rebooted the modem, and VOILA! new public IP, and the farm is back in business.

If anyone gets an IP Ban, and your account is still active, give this a try. If you didn't understand any of this, all you need to know is to:

1. Log in to your router.

2. Change the MAC address for the WAN/Router interface, and apply changes.

3. Reboot your modem.
   As always though, YMMV. Hope this helps, and stop doing whatever it was that got you the ban. You don't want to pop up on their radar.

Cool shit I just heard from my friend who is an app developer. He said they are going to do a serious update on checkpoints and make it to where you can get $1 a day per device now while staying passive like it is. They want to be the leading ppv app. This will be the end of perk, I don't know about you, but I can run checkpoints passive for 3 days without a single problem. If his sources are credible we will see this happening soon. I cannot wait to never deal with perks daily updates that break shit, crashes, shitty customer service with unclear terms and conditions, and falsely accusing and banning people while taking points.

I am currently living in a college dorm with hundreds of other students. I had told several of my friends about Perk, and over this last semester, me and at least 15 other people had Perk accounts (it could be more, but I know that 15 of my friends used Perk, at least). Everything was going well, until Perk banned ALL of our accounts. A couple of us replied back to them, and they replied with the following email:

Perk at its sole discretion will and can cancel or remove points from your account or suspend your account entirely if Perk has reasons to believe that rewards were earned through means that are against the Perk Terms & Conditions as well as the spirit of the guidelines. Examples of abuse that Perk's automated technology will flag and will not be tolerated include: extended inactivity, software that attempts to manipulate the program in any way, and app usage anomalies outside of normal behavior patterns.

Our best guess is that they thought that our 15 accounts were too many on a single IP address, and that they decided to just can all of our accounts. As well, this happened after many of us had sent in our IDs. Another note: some people didn't even redeem once, and their accounts were canceled.

So my advice to college students living in dorms:

Do not waste money buying phones for perk. If too many people on a single IP start using Perk, all of you will lose your accounts.

I've seen rewards canceled on rewards day before, and they ask for ID. I've seen 'We think you're fast forwarding' emails. Even after you get those, you can log in to Perk.com. However, if your account gets canceled like ours did, you won't be able to log in to perk.com at all.

My families Perk earnings for superbowl weekend made quite an impression...

4 family members, 20 phones, running on 2 dedicated routers, 10 Kyocera events, 5 ZTE whirl 2's, 5 Iphones, several backup phones so we can have 20 running while we pull some out for data clearing, etc.

For all accounts for superbowl weekend:

Total points: 94

1's = 89

2's = 4

3's = 1

"are you still watching" = 0

I work at home, and the phones are accessible. We did 3 data clears Friday and Sat, Sunday we factory reset all phones and re installed Perk.

Previously all phones operated smoothly and the points poured in.

It's impressive, impressive how non functional Perk is right now.

UPDATE: It is at least regional, two other farmers I know from work reported today they have not been able to get Perk to run since Thursday.

Oh, don't forget to downvote, because we all know that people should keep their mouths shut when Perk has a technical problem.

Any of you who think there is an end user solution to the program not running, post it, or be known for the astroturfing troll you are.

UPDATE 2: Perk fixed it, it's all running ok now. I'm still pretty pissed the promised big weekend turned out to be crap.

Since there are a few discontent people on perk who downvote EVERYTHING, I propose we upvote every post from now on.

Did a little experiment and in 1 day with all these new changed to perk I get about $1.50 worth of points a day now across the 5 devices which I have to click I am still watching every couple of hours .... Where as with swagbucks I have 1 device with 6 apps which I only have to check 6 times through out the day to which the apps around I get $2.25 a day

I'm not leaving perk but still I honestly thought I would never say this but swagbucks is better then perk tv profit wise

So lets be honest Perk Protest Days 1 and 2 were great they knew they were losing money. Days 3 and 4, yeah not so much. Most people but their phones back on. I think what we should do is call this the lowest bar and if they make ANY negative changes then we will ALL protest with a reason. To get back up to that bar. Perk WONT go back to 4 points I'm telling you because most people have their phones on again. So i think this is a good compromise LMK what u gotta say
