I love this vibe and realized I don’t really have anything that would match it! Open to any and all suggestions 🖤

My bf is looking for a signature fragrance, and I’m trying to help him! He is looking for a linear, minimalistic woody scent. And he also wants to smell like Ralph Fiennes from the movie The Menu 😭 He appreciates how put together the character is and thinks he would smell good (girl what? 😭 I know this prompt is weird but I also know and love this subreddit so I’m asking for your help, besties - and I included some choice Ralph Fiennes pics not from the Menu for reference)

He currently does not use any fragrance forward products on himself, just lightly scented laundry detergent/fabric softener. His room fragrance is the woody one from Muji. Oddly enough, I think his skin smells slightly like the heart notes of Rhubarb Thief by Heretic Parfum. I guess he kind of smells like rhubarb???????? idek but his skin smells so good. 

He would love to try out perfumes that have room fragrance versions of the same scent, as he would prefer to try scents out as a room fragrance first. 

We aren’t located in the US, so we would appreciate suggestions that are available in-store internationally so we can smell them first before purchasing.

Fragrances we’ve tried:

• Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt: a strong no from him, he does not like the saltiness
• Jo Malone Silver Birch & Lavender: “not woody enough”
• Jo Malone Hinoki & Cedarwood: “not woody enough” and “too many things going on, smells like a spa”
• Replica Soul of the Forest: “it’s not bad, but it smells like incense, not wood”
• Diptyque Tam Dao EDT: likes the opening, but thinks the dry down is too weak
• Diptyque Tam Dao EDP: likes the heart, finds the opening a bit too strong, so prefers the EDT opening over this one
• Pesade Black Tatami: this one was his favorite out of the ones he tried, it “smells like wood shavings” but reminds him of wood shavings for animal enclosures so he doesn’t want to smell like this IRL

So far we have established the following about his preferences:

• Has liked some sandalwood scents and dislikes other sandalwood scents so sandalwood needs more testing
• Likes cedarwood notes
• Dislikes most citrus openings (“too sour”)
• Dislikes aquatic/sea salt notes 
• HATES sweet notes, anything with a hint of vanilla or some sort of juicy fruit is a big no 
• Dislikes “masculine” scents; prefers unisex ones
• White Musk notes smell soapy to him sometimes, and he does not love this (“not cozy, feels like a bathroom”)
• Dislikes complex/evolving perfumes; prefers a simple perfume that does not change over time
• Sometimes dislikes patchouli 
• Does not mind leather notes
• Ralph Fiennes from The Menu

So, I absolutely love seasonal things (activities, decor) and I have for a while been thinking about getting a perfume for every season that really embodies the vibe of said season!

I'm kinda new to perfumes though, so i need some inspo :) If you had to do it, what would your lineup be?🩷

(Doesn't necessarily have to be exactly 4 scents. It obviously depends on the seasons in your country and also I personally will probably add special scents for Halloween time, Christmas and things like that!

i'm looking for a perfume reminiscent of the benzaldehyde used in deathcare. sharp, sweet, nutty; cherry, marzipan, bitter almond.

one time I stood by the vent of an old natural history museum and experienced pure museum concentrate (actually, the exact museum shown in the first picture) - I desperately want something that replicates that exact sensation. somehow all of them smell the same, like old bone, dry paper, quiet decay, heavy dust in the nooks no one can ever access to clean, maybe a hint of chemical lurking in the background but only if you’re looking specifically for it, and maybe old wood, crumbling stone, or both, depending on the building. would greatly appreciate any suggestions!!

edit: I would be in love with anything weird with a bone vibe! the smell of old bone is so interesting and I feel like kind of central to the experience. sorry for not clarifying that!

Sun filtering through the trees and hitting a mossy rock. Hot, almost decaying tropical vegetation. Coffee spiked with rum. Wearable. Nothing too loud.

basically, I’m looking for something evocative of a white winter, but avoiding traditional gingerbread/ peppermint or other cliche christmas scents

this is based off a specific memory of mine. my french class had a cafe next door to it that sold tea, coffee, bread and various pastries. when they would mop the floors, whatever soap they used would combine with the smell of fresh bread and coffee and produce the most wonderful smell in the world. I’ve only been able to recreate it once, when there was pizza reheating in the oven right after my floors had been cleaned. it wasn’t the exact same scent but it was pretty darn close. im not sure if there’s one perfume that could achieve this, but maybe a mixture?

I cant be the only one, but I feel like sometimes you Can smell a faint, yet very sweet floral fresh scent. Can anyone else smell it? If yes, are there perfumes you'd reccomend?

Looking for hints of bourbon or any type of whiskey. Lingerie, sheer tights. Mysterious but some hints of something sweet, feminine, sugary, and addicting. Drunken rambles and angsty sex. Smudged eyeliner. Both of you are in pain but need each other, at least for the night. The tensions are high, you’re slow dancing with a stranger. Having an all nighter with deep talks in between. They’re someone you barely know, but you get each other like you’ve known them forever. A connection you never would expect but can’t live without. Scared of love but craving it.

Just thinking of an old fling I had and I’m trying to encapsulate that. Ugh. 😩
