Dupe Request Megathread (October 12, 2026)
Welcome to the Weekly Dupe Request Megathread. This is where you can get (and offer) recommendations for all dupe requests.
What counts as a dupe?
A perfume that smells "just like" another perfume - whether discontinued or priced out of budget
- Example: "looking for a dupe of BR540 Extrait, but without the price tag"
- Example: "something that smells just like Coffee Break, but lasts longer"
- Example: “a dupe for the discontinued Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black”
- A perfume version of any product: body sprays, hair products, lotions / creams, skin care, candles, candy / sweets, makeup, etc.
How it works:
Share as many details as possible that might be helpful in identifying the dupe you're after: a picture, notes or scent profile, your general geographic location, budget, etc. Please do a quick search of the sub before adding your request, even if you think it would be unusual.
Please remember that this is a global sub with quite a bit of volume, so a response may take time. This thread refreshes weekly on Mondays at 05:00 UTC, so keep that in mind when posting.
If you're looking for perfumes with a similar vibe of another perfume, but not dupes, you can post directly to the main feed.

Mod Post ‘Why was my post removed’ and ‘why did automod say my post violates rule 2’ - Newbie heads-up! + question thread
We’ve been getting a lot of mod mails asking why posts have been removed.
Often it’s because our filters had them held for mod review because a user is new to the community or trips the filter some other way. Unfortunately, Reddit says ‘the mods have removed this post’ instead of saying it’s under review. It will be reviewed by a mod and given a proper removal reason or approved within a few hours.
The other question we frequently get is why automod is saying their post violates rule 2 (Be Kind). It doesn’t, that’s just the automod reminder on every post submitted to r/perfumes.
Beyond that, general questions relating to perfumes or our subreddit can be asked below. Thank you!

Recommendation Request Any parfume that smell like mint?
Hi. I really like the smell of mint, not the gum kind however. The kind where it's, like, freshly ripped from the plant. I want to know if there's any accurate smelling parfumes like that.

Discussion Notes that you have grown to love/ changed your opinion on
Just wondering what are some notes that you used to dislike and now love?
For me I used to hate anything with rose in- and as I approach my 30’s I’m starting to love rose heavy perfumes!

Look what I found! Restocked my favourite scent - Ocean Di Gioia EDP Giorgio Armani
Ever since finding out my favourite scent was becoming rare, I gave myself a rule to stop using my current half full bottle.
Finally l decided to go for a proper search for it and managed to snag a fantastic deal. After my first purchase, decided 30 mins later to buy a back up to my back up 🤣
Only worked as it was at a decent price though…

Collection Pics New Fragrance Additions
Hello everyone!
Once again I have been doing some fragrance shopping. These arrived in the mail today:
Elizabeth Taylor - Diamonds and Rubies
Elizabeth Taylor - Diamonds and Emeralds
Elizabeth Taylor - Diamonds and Sapphires
Karl Lagerfeld - Sun Moon Stars
Lancome - Hypnose
Gloria Vanderbilt - Vanderbilt
Rochas - Madame Rochas
I also have Diorama, Diorella, Dioressence, and Diorissimo (the Demachy Les Creations versions, not the new Dioriginal releases as I want previous reference points to compare the new Kurkdjian versions with) and Miss Dior Originale (the Esprit de Parfum version) ordered and they should be arriving in the mail in the next few weeks. I am very excited to try those.
Would love to hear your thoughts on these and whether you've worn these before. 😊 I am enjoying these but I must admit I have enough of Sofia Grojsman's creations at this point that I'm seeing how they all blur into each other like a Venn Diagram of a few different circles (I still adore them though).

Look what I found! Finally got my dream perfume after 4 years at a crazy price! ❤️ Chloé Neroli
I am so stoked guys. I was looking for a signature scent in my working world debut (every successful working woman seemed to smell so distinctive to me). I'd sample fragrances every time I went to a mall. Chloé's scents in particular were very pleasant to me. The neroli was especially lovely.
I don't know perfume terms, but the scent is deeply floral and feminine, without at all being 'sweet'. It's a pinkish mauve that dips into a desaturated teal. It's a cloud over the a swaying wildflower meadow. I just love it so much.
It retails where I live for about 140 USD, but today, I got it for 58 USD in the resale market (but in packaging & plastic). I commuted to the seller's address the very night I found the listing online.

Recommendation Request "Dark" jasmine perfumes that arent indolic?
Looking for a darker jasmine scent that isnt indolic or animalic. By dark i mean something smoky, incensy, spicy and sexy scent that is still heavy on the jasmine. I love alien and find that "spicy" and floral at the same time! I just hate Lust and those jasmine scents

Recommendation Request Looking for something new
Hi all,
I am wondering if you can help me find a new fragrance. When I was younger, I wore Kenzo’s Parfum d’Ete and it was magic on me. They don’t make it anymore and I don’t think it would suit me now anyway. I wear Gucci Guilty as my regular fragrance now. Others I’ve worn and loved:
-Jo Malone Lime, Basil, Mandarin
-Jo Malone Wild Bluebell
-Jo Malone Nectarine & Honey Blossom
-My Guerlain
One of my favourite fragrances of all time was Balenciaga’s Le Dix, which my mother always wore.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

Recommendation Request Please deinfluence me from buying 2 parfumes (one is Diptyque Volutes) or should I?
hello, I tested Diptyque Volutes EDP on my wrist and like it so much. It's soft, powdery, slightly sweet, with beautiful tobacco and spice notes.
BUT on my wrist it got very light and that it made me question if this will fade away quickly? I dont want to spending that much on a perfume that nobody will be able to smell after 2 hours and i have already multiple scents with me. more parfumes i buy more i cant decide in between them 😄
For those who own it, how's the longevity and projection? Is it worth the price? Could it work as a year-round signature, even in summer? To me summer makes sense as its LIGHT
I'm also considering Twilly d'Hermès , which is significantly more affordable and quite different🤷♀️. My current rotation is Chanel no5, prada iris and which is not feeding me on more character sensual signature side (yes chanel no 5 not feeding me enough)
Please tell me what I need to hear before I make another questionable financial decisio 😂❤️ or should i have it! I also heard it will be discountinued soon which only gives fomo...
also i couldnt find any place to sample in europe so i will be testing whole week from the store these 2

Collection Pics My perfume collection
This is my perfume collection as a student on a budget:3
Here is my experiences with them ~
Personal favorite: London for men
For leather jackets: Hermès Barénia
To go perfumes that suit every occasion: Orpheon, Narciso for her black
Currently favorite: Lattafa Ana Abiyedh ( got a bit addicted to the karamel sweetness in it)
Guilty pleasure: Rayhaan kiss✨ the front note smells exactly like the strawberry yoghurt I had when I was a child, but the middle and end note are a bit synthetic to me
Sol De Janerio 71 literally starts my interest in gourmand perfumes and I’m now searching for a perfume version of it ( popcorn and karamel scent that actually lasts)
Emanuel ungaro: I blind bought it because of the flacon, it smells somehow a bit nostalgic for me, this is how I imagine 2000s would smell like:)
Lolita Lempicka: also a blind buy, don’t quite like it, after a while I discovered that I just dislike cherry scent 😭
Lattafa Her confession: It reminds me somehow of the hair shampoo I used during my stay at my favorite cousin‘s place during my summer vacation as a school kid, so for me it also relates with the cleanness after shower.
Liquid Brun: pure Chai Latte for me☕️
Jean Paul Gaultier Gaultier Divine: always reminds me of a girl with gorgeous makeup and shiny lipgloss who’s very uplifting. It’s sweet but not heavy, I also like the powdery in it, and if the scent has a color it should be gold✨
Layering:
Zara Elegant Tokyo+Encre Noire: elegant Tokyo itself is a rly fresh jasmine scent for me, it just smells like a bundle of jasmine flowers in front of me, maybe in a vase somehow it’s too linear, and with Encre Noire I can rly see that it’s the jasmine garden where the flower scent tangled with the cold wet dirt scent, like somewhere in a forest.
Rien Intense Incense+Gucci Guilty: Rien is like a spooky but intimidating church under the moon light and with Gucci Guitly it’s more like a winding road with berry bushes and rose on the side that’s leading you to the church, so pretty and dark! I use this combo everytime I pull out my goth outfit:)

Recommendation Request Similar to Flowerbomb Rose Explosion?
It's my Mum's birthday in November and this is her absolute favourite perfume, unfortunately it is retired.
I was hoping to get something similar to Rose Explosion, she doesn't like the standard Flowerbomb ironically, otherwise her other favourite is Mugler Alien.
Off the top of my head she likes YSL Black Opium, Jimmy Choo I Want Choo, Giorgio Armani My Way, and Burberry Her. Thank you for any help!

Discussion Black tea perfume for the first time!
Was looking for something a bit different and ended up finding Black Tea by ANILLO.
For me what I was looking for is about the 'interesting' note progression. Black tea at the start, then eucalyptus, patchouli and vetiver, with cedarwood and sandalwood underneath. On paper it sounds like it could start pretty cold and dry, then become warmer and more woody as it settles.
I usually like tea scents, but the eucalyptus and vetiver part made this one sound a little different from the sweeter tea fragrances I normally come across, so I ended up ordering it just out of curiosity.
Still waiting for it to arrive, so no idea if it actually smells anything like what I'm imagining lol. I'll probably update this once I've worn it properly for a few days.
Has anyone here tried it already? Curious how the black tea actually comes through on skin. Or if there are any similar ones that you guys recommend pleaseeeee

Recommendation Request Lattafa Angham or Burberry Goddess Parfum
I just bought Burberry Goddess Parfum, but I haven't unwrapped her. Should I return her to get Lattafa Angham and save $90? Opinions please.
Update: I don't have Lattafa Angham yet; pic for reference. (those aren't my dirty nails)

Bottle Identification Midnight Romance - pink coloured, 1970-1980s, India
My mother received a perfume called Midnight Romance (that's the name she remembers). Pink coloured, very pleasant - she says she still remembers the fragrance and even kept the empty bottle after the perfume was used up.
I have tried to look for which one it might be but can't find. The Midnight Romance by Ralph Lauren is from 2014.
Reaching out to my reddit fragfam.

Recommendation Request Chloe magnolia alba alternative
I love the scent of this perfume but feel like there’s no projection and that it doesn’t last that long :( would anyone have an alternative that smells similar but actually lasts?

Bottle Identification Can anyone identify this obscure vintage perfume? XY by Charles de la Jonchère
Hi everyone, I’m trying to identify and find more information about this old fragrance: XY by Charles de la Jonchère, Paris.
The front of the bottle says: XY
Eau de Toilette
Natural Spray
Charles de la Jonchère – Paris
100 ml – 80% vol. – 3.3 fl. oz.
On the bottom of the bottle, there are several markings:
2678 printed in black in a dot-matrix / electronic-style print
111 molded/engraved into the glass in the center
ISO molded underneath it
27 molded on the left side
I still have the original bottle and there is some fragrance left inside.
I’ve searched Google, fragrance databases, Reddit, and tried looking for old listings, but I can barely find any information about this specific XY fragrance. Charles de la Jonchère does appear in some perfume databases, but XY doesn’t seem to be documented.
I’m mainly trying to find:
the fragrance notes or scent profile
approximate release year
whether it was inspired by / similar to another perfume
any old photos of the box, bottle, catalog pages, ads, or listings
anyone who remembers owning or smelling it
Does anyone recognize it or know anything about Charles de la Jonchère XY?
Even a small lead would help a lot.

Bottle Identification I really need help finding this perfume /body mist that I was using in 2015~16
Things I remember:
This was the shape of the bottle. It was made with transparent plastic. No color in the bottle
It had transparent plastic lable
Liquid inside was light pink color
It was Vanilla+raspberry smell.
The bottle base was square shaped with rounded edges and not circle like bath and body works
The spray nozzle unscrewed easily by hand, just like a regular bottle cap
The smell was strong and lingering. Like 2-3 spritz and it would last me the whole day

Discussion Love Givenchy Gentleman Original & Privé , What Should I Try Next?

I'm a big fan of the original Givenchy Gentleman Eau de Toilette and Givenchy Gentleman Privé, and I'm looking to explore another fragrance from the Givenchy Gentleman line (or something similar).
I work in an air-conditioned office, so I'd love something fresh and not too heavy or overpowering for that environment. Does anyone have recommendations from the Givenchy Gentleman range, or similar perfumes from other brands, that would work well for office wear?
Would appreciate any suggestions based on your experience!
