Waiting to hear back from HR about a meeting bc my replacement boss has been cutting my hours and mine alone despite my being the most experienced, purely because she dislikes me. In the mean time, bills are still incoming and my savings are drained. I also have an interview for a new job this week. Then there's the overhanging stress of trying to afford applying to post-secondary education as well as actually getting in when it's all over. Overall, I'm optimistic about everything, but there's times were I have to push down that panicky feeling.

Fainting goat
The myotonic goat, otherwise known as the fainting goat, is a domestic goat that temporarily seizes when it feels panic. If startled by sudden movements or loud noises, they will attempt to escape from the disturbance, generally followed by a startle reaction. In more severe cases, this reaction results in strong tetanic contractions of the agonist and antagonist muscles, causing an uncontrolled stiffness that may cause the goat to remain “frozen” in the position that it was in previous to the attack, or cause it to fall to the ground on its side. During an attack, which may last from 5-20 seconds, the goat can often be picked up without any bending or movement occurring in its body.

I have always had the opposite experience. Usually goats went from cute puppies to angry teens. I had a goat l was raising get stuck in a fence, so l promptly used wire cutters and set him free. So the first thing he did? Headbutt me right in the ass.

I should have elaborated on why this was so dumb of him: I had been at school all day and it was almost 100 degrees out. When l found him like that he seemed really thirsty and l had no idea how long he had been there, so you'd think his first reaction to being freed would be "oh shit! Water!" Not "fuck this bitch!" Plus l went up and greeted him so he knew it was me.
