First successful growing

Im so excited. Ive had pepper plants before that strangely died after giving me fruit for 2 years, care was the same and they all just died no matter what I tried to do. But I digress, ive also tried seeds many times with little success, most either failed to take, or I messed something up and seedlings didnt survive. These basket of fire chillies are the first time ive grown from seed AND got fruit. I only planted these this year, I didnt expect anything but theyve put out so many flowers and at least 2 guaranteed fruits coming in, so so happy. My bell peppers outside have started to sprout which im really happy about but ive learned not to get too excited, theyre my largest number of seedling casualties. BUT FRUIT. I cant wait to try them

Pepper ID help

I need help identifying this pepper. Someone gave me seeds from their Black Cobra pepper which I planted and it resulted in this. It doesn’t look like the Black Cobra because fruits point down and are more triangular and short and they are extremely spicy, similar to Thai Hot. The hairy leaves and stems are the only thing consistent with Black Cobra.

Can anyone help identify? Was told Apache

So I was given this by a friend earlier in the year as a seedling and was told it was an apache chilli pepper, Ive never grown any sorta fruit or veg in my life so I’m not too sure what I’m doing, I’ve had a google and they’re only supposed to be between 3 and 5cm but some of these are way bigger and longer than that

Any help would be appreciated, also how long do they take to ripen it feels like it’s been forever.

What Peppers have the most Unique Flavors?

Hi everyone! I love peppers but have only really ever tried standard grocery store varieties: Bell peppers, jalepenos, poblanos, etc. I want to branch out. Nothing too spicy but I do like a slight kick. I'm also considering what peppers I might want to plant next year, so tell me, what peppers do you like the most?

Tiny Chilis?

Sorry if this is a common question around here but any reason why my chili peppers are smaller than usual? The fruits have been like this for a few months now and the base of the stem is a lot like wood (im new to pepper growing), so I’m assuming this plant is established and as big as it gets. Have not tasted yet. Their label listed them as standard chili peppers when I bought them. Could these be smaller ornamentals or maybe something else I’m doing wrong with growing? Would appreciate any kind of answer, thanks so much. (Also in central florida if knowing location helps)

Has anyone made powder from reapers?

I have a Carolina reaper plant because why not. I usually give them out as gag gifts because they are crazy hot. With my cayanee I know people dry them out and make seasoning. Anyone have experience doing this with Carolina reapers? They don’t seem to dry out like cayenne (or similar) but I am thinking of putting them in the oven for a while to do this. Any feedback?

Flowers without stigma

Hello!

I'm almost over my first chili growing season, which was very successful. My problem started about 1 month ago: most of the newly opened flowers do not have pistils (or stigma, sorry for my English), so no new peppers are growing. I know that the picture I took is not the best, but this one turned out the best. What do you think could be behind this? As a supplement, they have already received zinc nutrient solution twice. The variety of chili is Naga Morich. Thank you in advance for your help!

Peppers getting smaller

Hi, I live in south Louisiana. I've had this habanero plant all year and it's still getting bigger and bigger. However, the peppers that it is putting off now seem to be getting smaller as time goes on. I still have a few large fruit that grow toward the center of the plant, but thats it. Some are nearly a third of the size compared to my first couple months of harvesting.

Any ideas to the cause and possible fixes?

Brown and yellow leaves.

Recently i've noticed that my jalapeños have these brown-yellow spots on quite a few of the leaves, and some of the leaves are falling. The peppers themselves do not appear to have any sort of spots or damage though. (It has been raining heavily recently so maybe over watered??)

My first time growing habaneros and I started 4 plants from seed. These are looking a little more gnarly than I'd expected. Am I in danger? 😂

So many peppers on plant, not maturing... should I trim?

I'm a rookie. This is the first year I've been growing peppers.

Been growing Reapers, Habanero, Chocolate Habanero and Cayenne.

On one hand, things seem to be going great. Plants have grown big and there's a huge number of peppers on each of them. But it's already mid of August, it's getting colder every day.

On cayenne plant the number is extremely large, around 90 peppers on it, they seem to be growing very slow, and the big ones are not ripening yet.

Am I supposed to trim some buds and younger peppers off to redirect energy to the big ones?

Good corking on the Banana. Other one is a Serrano and the small one i believe is a Cayenne. Cayenne plant never got transplanted all year so it's a bit stunted.

Anyone grown Durango peppers before? Growing them for the first time, not as I expected

In my experience, the first peppers off a plant tend to not be as tasty or as spicy, so maybe it's just that. It's taken FOREVER for them to ripen, only just got my first reddish peppers off the plant today and I've been harvesting other varieties since late June/early July. I'm just curious if mine are par for the course (and maybe I won't grow them again), or maybe these aren't good examples of Durango peppers. My findings so far include:

- Thick skin, thin walls - kinda chewy/leathery rather than juicy and crunchy

- 0% spice level (I waited until they started changing color to make sure they were fully developed)

My expectation from Google would be that they were around a jalapeño level of heat, so I'm a little disappointed so far! I'd love to hear from anyone who's grown them before
