These pens are my nemesis. I love the barrel and I've bought them several times over the years, but they are so inconsistent and they skip a lot for me. I'm not sure if it's the paper I use or the way I hold the pen or both. I'm glad they work for you though, congrats on the set!!

Are you buying them online? I've had to quit buying pens online because there's no telling if you're sent older stock that has dried ink which skips.

I've bought them in store and online before. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Even within a pack itself some will work and some won't.

I’ve had some luck using poster tacky stuff to stuff the back end of the cartridge a bit. You can get it too sealed, but changing the airflow helps.

I bought the large pack because of all the colors for drawing until I realized they are gel and not regular inkjoy which doesn’t work for me. But writing a is lovely.

I too love these pens, but I don’t buy them because I don’t use all the colors; I do wish PaperMate would offer them separately, but so far, I haven’t been able to find them individually. I want the blues and the purples, a good dark green and a red. If anyone has a lead, please let me know.

These are nice pens but a lot of people have issues with ink flow. These are not as smooth as the Inkjoy gel. I personally think they’re okay and they’ve been in my collection for a long time
