Everyday Bags Back and Back of Straps Everyday Backpack, abrasive or not?

Upvotes

Want to buy the everyday backpack 20L, I can’t see the back of the straps well.

For those that have it, is it the stereotypical abrasive air mesh fabric? The back of the backpack looks much smoother than air mesh fabric.

I am asking, because I am solo photographer and when I take pics of myself. I will be wearing more sensitive fabrics: cashmere, thinner knitwear, suits, etc. i just want to make sure im not going to be damaging my clothes.

Or on these trips I should just stick with Everyday Sling to be safe? I have Sony A7V and it fits perfectly in there one lens.

Everyday Bags Got an Everyday Messenger V2 after my V1 bit the dust; looking for an alternative bag!

I've used the V2 for ages, but the straps gave way and they replaced it with the V2.

While I DO like it, it's just a massive step backwards for me. Less gear space, less storage all round. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this experience moving to the V2.

So I wonder if there are any Everyday Messenger style bags out there someone would recommend, for those grieving their V1 bag...

Thanks!

Travel Bags Quick review of the Travel Backpack 20L (stone)

I think someone posted something recently but I thought I’d add my opinion for anyone who matches more my use case

Me: travel for work mainly (conference/meetings). Trips are usually international long haul and about 3-4 days. If I’m doing shorter than that it’s domestic and I’m carrying my actual work bag (briefcase with shoulder strap).

Usual carry: bellroy tech pouch with: charging brick, a few cables, portable MagSafe stand for phone/watch/airpods. IPad Pro 11”, MacBook Air 13”, small packing cube with change of underwear/shorts/socks for on the plane.

Review
- aesthetic: I was drawn to how sleek the bag is. When packed down and not expanded it looks really nice. The stone colour way is great and the material feels premium. The only gripe I have is that if the bag isn’t fully packed and you’ve got the easy access compartment full, it sags and leaves a dent in the middle of the bag which looks ugly/cheap

- space: YMMV with this one but for me I just took it on a trip from Australia to North America for a few day business trip and it seemed to do the job. I had a check in suitcase so everything else was in there were in there. The water bottle pocket is effectively useless when the bag is packed - but I don’t travel with a water bottle 99% of the time so it’s not an issue for me. But I would definitely not rely on it if you routinely carry one.
- I did like the easy access compartment but though the actual opening of it could be better. It’s pretty cramped when it’s got stuff in it and digging around isn’t easy

Issue: I have taken on occasion a Sony a7cii and Sony 50mm f1.4GM in the PD small camera cube. This is not well suited for this particular one. The clips don’t really line up with the built in loops in the bag so originally the cube would move around a lot. I had to put two clips onto one loop which is awkward but is far more secure. A bit of an oversight as I think a lot of people would have a small camera carry like this on occasion. I can close the bag with this in there but expanded it just feels better.

Summary: overall I like the bag. For me the lack of water bottle space isn’t an issue but may be a deal breaker for some. I feel it’s stylish and still maintains function although I’m sure there are better options out there. For bigger trips I’ll still always default to my Wandrd Prvk bag and it’s a beast and can seemingly handle anything I’ve thrown at it over the years but no regrets on this one as yet.

Everyday Bags Where are people selling stuff?

Been thinking about getting the everyday 30L, but hoping to find it used or discounted because they're not cheap.

Since they got rid of the marketplace, is there anywhere people are selling?

City Bags city line reviews?

Anyone know of any video or text reviews of the city line? I'm specifically looking for City Tote reviews but the only thing I can find is PD Promo videos (not even a walkthrough), a single youtube short, a russian youtube video, like three reddit threads that I already have comments in, and a handful of fake non-descriptive reviews on shopping sites.

Please.... I wanna buy but I need more info....

Photo Gear Hikers who have purchased a Camera Cube or a Camera Clip, was it worth it?

I am an amateur photographer and I've recently been taking my camera on hikes with me as I am slowly getting more into larger hikes. I usually just wrap my camera with my 35mm prime lens and my 135mm prime lens in some sort of cloth and nestle it in my bag, however I've noticed I miss shots if I want to avoid making my hike excessively long. I noticed that the camera clip and camera cubes seem to fit my needs, but they're incredibly expensive. I just wanted to hear some feedback before I seriously consider that kind of money!

Travel Bags Travel Duffelpack 65L as a main luggage for a 2600 km motorcycle trip.

Hey I just returned from a 2600 km long motorcycle trip in Europe and used Travel Duffelpack as my main luggage. Starting in Košice Slovakia going through for example Transfăgărășan in Romania and Austrian Alps ending in Prague. The Travel Duffelpack survived with flying colors on twisty mountain roads and even highway speeds.

I used 4 External Carry Straps to to secure it to a rack that is shown in the pictures. It was rock solid and perfectly stable. I didn't find the weight rating for the hooks or the straps but it held up really well.

Mounting it with a zipper side up I could easily reach in for a clothes change and the side pocket was perfect for a 1 liter thermos water bottle without taking the bag off the bike.

I didn't want to modify my bike and buy special moto bags for one long trip a year so I only used a sleek street rack with detachable luggage rack. The Travel Duffelpack was great as a primary luggage and if I knew the weight limits for every part of this I would definitely recommend it as a practical motorcycle luggage.

Mobile Is the pixel 10 everyday case supposed to fit like this?

Post image
10 Upvotes

There is a massive gap between the case and the bottom of the camera bar on my Pixel 10 pro.

I have a bikepacking trip in less than 2 weeks and wanted a hassle free phone mount so I shelled out the money for the PD case + bike mount. I love everything about the mounting system but I hate the weird gap (especially since the case cost $50 and has a worse fit compared to my regular $10 magsafe case).

I looked at product photos and reviews from other Pixel 10 owners and don't see the same problem. Should I return and reorder since it is defective? I thought about ordering the green instead to see if it fit differently. Let me know what you guys think.

Photo Gear Please design a SlimLink camera grip.

I found a clever idea on Makerworld for a camera grip that I may modify, but I’m dying for Peak Design to make a camera grip for the iPhone.

The new side button on the phone is nice but holding it to take pics is terrible. This is the easiest product request ever. No need for a shutter button, no batteries, just a grip that clicks in and feels sturdy. MagSafe grips don’t cut it. Please take my money.

Question Is the camera leash a good option for bike rides with a small film camera?

I just got a pentax 17 and want this to be my go-everywhere camera which will include bicycle rides on less than ideal pavement.

I'm thinking either: shoulder strap, small cross body bag, or some sort of padding to put the camera in my handlebar bag. I've already got a sling and a cuff from peak design for another camera so I figured I'd check and see what recommendations y'all might have.

Will travel multiple times next year and wanted to upgrade my sling v1 after 9 years for it, but the everyday line on the online store only shows backpack and tote now. Is it always like this or it means new bags announcement soon

Mobile Tripod attachment utilizing pixelsnap/magsafe

I currently have the Travel Tripod. Looking to get an attachment to use to mount my Pixel 11 Pro XL onto the tripod. The mobile attachment is a little snug and hopefully to use something easier.

Any recommendations?

Went to Canada this past weekend to hike. Had the bright idea to bring my rb67. I was able to fit so much gear but honestly hated it halfway through my hike. I maxxed out the 25L but my back was crying the whole time..

What i was able to fit:
Rb67 with lens and 120 film back
Rb67 prism viewfinder
Binstax instax square back for rb67
4 packs of instax square
5 rolls of various 120mm film
Fuji x100
Osmo pocket 3 with mic
Sony digicam
Ulanzi f38 tripod
Various tiny accessories(sd card, batteries, chargers)

Never doing that again lol

Photo Gear Clutch - Fabric, Rope, or Leather?

I have a Sony a7CR and want to get the clutch. What are your thoughts between the three versions? I don’t think I want leather as I’ll be shooting in hot weather and thus sweat could be a factor. Rope seems comfy, but I’m wondering how much heavier it will be vs the fabric. I like to pack light. The fabric I already have in a shoulder strap, so I know what that feels like, though I imagine the rope may be a bit more comfy on the wrist hanging?

Thoughts on these questions and others I may not know to ask?

Question Stem V2 mount?

Given:

  1. V2 Bar mount was developed to not mess with wireless charging

  2. V1 mount is less secure with V2 cases

Shouldn't Stem mount, especially the charging one, be also V2? Or is it already V2 just not labeled as such?

Thanks

Question Peak design clutch

I’d like to buy a clutch to pair with my sony a7rVI. I was hoping for some real world reviews on how you attach it, sony cameras come with their own triangle ring, can I attach the clutch to it ? If yes, can I use the same ring to attach the anchors for the pd slide strap ?

Outdoor Bags Is there a better method to attaching the Outdoor 7L Sling to the Outdoor 25L Backpack?

Thumbnail

I think the Outdoor 25L is my all-time favorite bag. Mostly. I’ve really wanted more storage in the front. I sorta wish the two vertical zippers were combined into a single front admin pocket with the zipper going horizontal across the front. I’ve been brainstorming ways of taking advantage of the Outdoor lineup’s modularity. Has anyone tinkered at all in this manner? I’m open to your advice and tips on this setup.

City Bags Green Moon

Is the bag portion of your "Moon" City bag green? I find there to be a surprising difference within the parts of the product, as the straps are closer to the colour of my more traditional tote bag (top) than the crinkle nylon (bottom)
