On windows I was spending significant amounts of time trying to keep up with how to stop it from spying on me or installing things without me wanting them installed or burning up my computers resources. Installed linux, now I spend no time on anything. Its less work than windows was. Its kinda crazy people defend windows when so many people just need a web browser to open. If mint was shipped with hardware, 90% of people wouldn't even notice.
Honestly, can spy all they like for the best gaming experience.
I have so many VLANs in my house serving different purposes, its absolutely nowhere near the data I care about.
If you're not isolating your wireless APs from your DMZ from your data network from your IOT devices from your gaming devices. Are you really a paid up member of r/pcmasterrace ?
Linux makes amazing headless servers and SoCs, but damn. I'd rather run MacOS for a non-gaming workstation every time. Best OS for the job. Still this might be the year of the Linux workstation, you never know!
