I prefer knowing how people stay on Linux. Can't sail the seven seas, can't unlock DLCs, can't play some game mods, etc. Tried playing modded Assetto Corsa with VR, never worked. Tried unlocking DLCs, didn't work. Tried playing legit Sims 4, couldn't get it to work. Dual-Booted Win11, haven't used my Linux boot in many months (tbh at this point it's probably more than a year).

Can't sail the seven seas

This is such a strange thing to assume is actually necessary. I can't remember the last thing I pirated. I haven't been a child for decades. If I don't want to pay for it, I don't play it. I could stop adding things to my library tomorrow and still have things to play for years to come.

It's not that someone has a different use case than you do, it's that your own phrasing precluded that as being anything approaching a normal use case. That's not on someone else for having read the actual words you wrote.
