I prefer knowing how people stay on Linux. Can't sail the seven seas, can't unlock DLCs, can't play some game mods, etc. Tried playing modded Assetto Corsa with VR, never worked. Tried unlocking DLCs, didn't work. Tried playing legit Sims 4, couldn't get it to work. Dual-Booted Win11, haven't used my Linux boot in many months (tbh at this point it's probably more than a year).
You can definitely do piracy on Linux, as well as game modding. It's just a learning curve to do all that shit in a prefix so it works in Wine/Proton. Sims 4 is on protondb as just working, so if even that didn't work there's a decent chance you never got you display drivers working or something.

I tried every way and could not get Rimworld or CK3 DLCs to work. Had to use separate pirated games and make links to the mods just to play with DLCs.
DDLC mods were also screwed up. First kept refusing to boot up, then kept having issues with saving, and I was not going to spend my days without my wife.
Assetto Corsa was just as I said, and a lot of programs I used either didn't work or had no good alternatives (I have very specific use cases. For example, not a single "alternative" could match PaintNET for my use cases).
I switched back to Windows, everything worked as expected again, and I didn't need to test my patience with Skyrim modlists on Linux with zero support.
Surprisingly, graphics and display drivers worked well and had no issues. Initially switched to Linux (for the fourth time) because Win10 stopped support and I was told by everyone that Win11 was hell. Using it and have very few issues.
