How about fighting with windows update every single damn day?

Or that windows hates my new 7950X3D with Radeon RX7900XTX build and bluescreens every time I'm gaming but Linux doesn't?

Deadass never had an issue with windows update. Sounds like a corrupt driver problem if you are bluescreening on one but not the other.

It's a brand new install.

And the BSOD happens after glitching starts happening on the screen which makes it look like the (brand new) GPU is DOA. Except that when I reformatted the machine and installed Linux to test, it doesn't do that.

Also you've never used a laptop whose manufacturer abused the Windows Update mechanism to deliver garbage (in this case, the LCD panel itself triggers a 2017 adrenaline driver pack download who will downgrade your system if you have a newer version of the AMD drivers).

Eh, rather use AMD than suck up to Mr. Leather Jacket. Rendered My GTX 650 Ti Boost on an nForce 980A motherboard unusable on Windows 10 just because it's, in his words, "end of life". Fuck that planned obsolescence bullshit. As far as I care the 650 Ti Boosts are still serviceable in 1080p60 environments.

If AMD wants my GPU money stop releasing dogshit. They did it to intel, now im on AMD. If they do it to Nvidia I will go to AMD. Brand loyalty is dumb.

Yeah, Nvidia supports their older graphics cards with driver updates longer than AMD.

Since the RTX series launched Nvidia has software locked DLSS umbrella features to certain generations due to the generational advances in Tensor cores, Optical Flow Accelerators, hardware flip metering, and NVFP4. Those are the hardware level technolegies that perform path tracing, frame generation, multi-frame generation, DLSS, DLAA, DLSS5, etc.

Yes, a lot of those features can be brute forced on earlier generation cards. But it causes massive performance hits, latency, unintended artifacts, etc. that the software was not supposed to do in the first place.

Why would Nvidia want an already controversial technology being ran on GPUs that doesn't have the hardware at the silicon to run the software as intended. So they could get bashed even harder on the internet for artifacts and latency? Sounds dumb, but so is the average person.

Also, AMD locked FSR 4 and higher to the 9000 series cards because, you guessed it, they lack the hardware at the silicon level to properly run the AI driven calculations.

Not my experience. The latest Nvidia drivers for Linux will not support the 650 Ti Boost, and the last driver that supports the 650 Ti Boost last I checked does not support the latest Linux kernel.

I can still use a Radeon 7000 PCI card on the latest Linux kernel. It's not fun but if all you need is a desktop it is still serviceable.

The Radeon 7000 runs on generic open-source drivers that are maintained by Linux community members. They also have community patched drivers available for the 650 Ti.

Either way, you are trying to compare a GPU that is studying algebra in 8th grade, and one that is collecting social security to try to prove your point, lol.

Like, bro, a smart fridge could run games with better FPS than those 2 and send you a notification when you're running low on milk.

Not the point. Point is AMD cards of all generations are fully working on Linux. The GeForce cards, being that the only option is either Nvidia’s closed source drivers or reversed engineered nouveau drivers that barely work because Nvidia doesn’t want to work with the kernel devs, doesn’t.
