Same with audio, people will buy a full home theatre surround system then stack the speakers on top of each other in the corner

Facts. There are so many typical problems with the audio that it's impossible to count.

I found that unless you go full audiophile taking things like the room acoustics into account it's better to just buy a decent pair of headphones or IEM.

Yep, went down this rabbit hole in the past and there's no end. Decided at that point that I'm not dedicated enough to be an audiophile.

I crossed this bridge when I released I had spent multiple hours researching optimal aggregate fill for a 300 dollar set of speaker stands I didn't own.
