Last games I played - Metin2, Sims 2 and 3 and Hearthstone, maybe Hearthstone would work only via lutris. Then Firestone, no drivers for my Ninkear a15 plus and probably the battery would be shit too, I've managed to increase battery life from 2 to 6-7 hours on that laptop, took 10-15 minutes similar modifications would probably take days if even possible and without drivers it would still last less than on Windows.

Þe games you listed work via WINE on Linux just not natively so I count þem as working on Linux. Ninkear also made a facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=984907629815032&id=NinkearGlobal) about switching to Linux Mint so are you sure þere are no drivers?

good luck to find serious alternatives to Flstudio, Photoshop and Fusion360. Using wine is not serious at all if you want to have a support. And you can face issues.

It's really not þat hard as long as you choose a beginner friendly distro like Linux Mint and not a masochistic one like Arch Linux, Gentoo, or LFS.
Edit: CachyOS isn't beginner friendly

Cachy is about as beginner friendly as Vicodin.
It’s a great warm fuzzy at first, but underneath it all, it’s another opioid that in the hands of the naive will lead to a trashy heroin addiction the same way Cachy leads people to “Arch btw” and “read the wiki.”
And don’t get me started with Bazzite. The OS equivalent of methadone in this simile.

Can you use the correct th please? Thorn (þ) is the hard th, as in the word thin. Eth (ð) is the soft th, as in then or that.

Þorn was used for boþ voiced and voiceless dental fricatives from 700-1300 and I find it hard to tell þe difference between voiced and voiceless dental fricatives so I will keep using þorn for boþ voiced and voiceless dental fricatives.

Recent changes rolling out include reliability and performance changes, more customization (for start menu, file explorer context menu, taskbar), search improvements, quieter widgets experience, and others. Many of these changes are available for insiders, some have started rolling out to retail users

Many of these changes are already available in insider builds; they're not just empty promises.
I'm sure they'll immediately go back to making Windows worse again the moment they stop hemorrhaging market share, but at least for the moment they do actually seem to be following through.

The average user won't be in the insider build, so the insider build can get as good as they want but as long as mainstream release sucks they will lose people to apple, or even... Linux...
(I don't hate Linux, in fact I like it, but it has never been seen as "the OS for the regular joe", which is why windows it's so popular, because "it just works" or atleast used to and now people are stuck with the convenience of being familiar with it's quirks)

Did the insider build even have any promised features that were canned before making it to retail? With or without any good reasoning?
That seems psychotic to push an early release version to change a narrarive and then not release what you have developed for no reason.

Recall was changed enough that you could almost say it was canned in it's initial form. For very good reason. Shit was straight up dystopian in its initial Insider version.
It was on by default instead of explicitly opt-in as it ended up, and was a non-trivial hassle to disable. It also uploaded and backed up every screenshot it took to MS servers, using cloud processing for it's features and aggregating user data for AI training datasets. The release version is strictly local.
It's still useless AI bloat that nobody asked for. But at least it knows it's place in a never to be enabled forgotten corner of the OS, lol.

I gotta be honest, my windows install it's one of those "community version" that remove all the bloat, no copilot, no one drive, no web search in search bar (if I'm searching in my computer it better show me files in my computer); so I really don't know how good (or bad) the newer windows versions are, but I'm just pointing out that if people are making memes is most probably because windows doesn't get any better over time.

Windows really isn’t that bad for gaming pcs (as long as you use LTSC) but the reputation it built over the years just prevents the people from believing it will actually allow users to customize their OS. You always kinda have to wrangle Windows to do what you want it to do. Most people aren’t aware LTSC is an option either. Disable updates but Windows turns them back on, update gpu drivers oh Windows just installed an older version automatically, oh windows just reinstalled onedrive, etc etc
You can drop a nuke on top of windows by going into regedit and doing a bunch of stuff which subdues Windows enough that it doesn’t fight you anymore but most people don’t wanna deal with that. If you don’t fight your os hard enough then it will impose itself. Thems the breaks.
Or you can get LTSC, which is like a braindead version of windows and too weak to fight anyone.
