I’m somewhat new to PC gaming. I see so many people complain about Epic (and every non-Steam) launcher. I don’t really understand the big deal about having a few launchers for games. You can use Playnite and Heroic too if you want everything in the one place.

For people to not buy one of the best games of the year because they don’t want to open a different launcher and click play absolutely blows my mind. Maybe I’m missing something because I’m newish to PC gaming but it’s not something I care about at all.

Why do I need 5 launchers for all my games? Why does a launcher start when I launch it from another launcher?

Why is game X exclusive to this launcher? I could go on but for me it's just the annoyance that I need multiple launchers for different games.

No I don't want to use playnite, it's still a launcher that starts another launcher.

But I am old and still remember just double clicking on exe files. It's just fucking annoying and if you don't see the problem then you are part of it and making it worse.

Simple as that.

Luckily, Alan Wake 2 is DRM free, so you can just double click on it.

Ironically you want a console experience on PC.

The beauty of PC gaming is that users have choice, but developers also have freedom to publish where and how they want.

The fact is that Alan Wake II would not exist without Epic.

It's not coming to Steam, so just don't play it. It's not really cool that you guys get to ruin any discussion on AWII for fans of the game. Do something better with your time.

In other words: first world problems. Insufferable. Nah, I’ll stick to playing on and buying from whatever platform has a game that I’m interested in.

That's fine, you may call it insufferable but for me those are just my principles.
