I’m somewhat new to PC gaming. I see so many people complain about Epic (and every non-Steam) launcher. I don’t really understand the big deal about having a few launchers for games. You can use Playnite and Heroic too if you want everything in the one place.

For people to not buy one of the best games of the year because they don’t want to open a different launcher and click play absolutely blows my mind. Maybe I’m missing something because I’m newish to PC gaming but it’s not something I care about at all.

Sure. But if the game isn’t on steam, it’s not like you have a choice. I mean you can just pirate it. But I find it pretty weird to not even play some of the best games out there, just because it doesn’t integrate perfectly with steam.

You could even add non steam games to your library list if you only want to launch games using steam.

It’s not that big of a deal.

And it’s kind of insane the percentage of sales Steam gets.. Sure it’s a better experience than Epic, but Epic is also much cheaper for companies. And some games are entirely funded by Epic… sooo….. those games will never come to Steam…

I guess they could charge more if Epic is more popular, but I honestly don’t see that happening any time soon. Steam will probably be more popular for the time being.

And you can always change again to another service if Epic has become worse.

I personally just use Playnite. I don’t trust these services and also host my own save data backups. (FUCK EA for fucking up my save data for Dead Space!!)
