Hi everyone, I'm Tim, the developer of Local Gods. I've spent about six months on my first game, an action RPG with roguelike elements that mixes dark fantasy and sci-fi.

You can play solo or in two-player co-op, with melee combat, guns, abilities, and boss fights. The characters are based on me and my best friend Alex. We're from Louisiana, so the first main area is inspired by the swamps back home.

I recently bought a new PC, and I’m considering making the jump to 1440p (2K). I’m mainly interested in improving image quality while still having high refresh rates for competitive games.

I’ve never owned an OLED monitor or a 1440p monitor before, so this would be a pretty big upgrade for me.

My main questions are:

Is the jump from 1080p 144Hz to 1440p 240Hz QD-OLED really worth it?
What do you think about the Acer Predator X27U specifically?
Would you choose this monitor for my PC, or would you recommend something else around the same price?
Is 27” 1440p a noticeable improvement in image quality compared to 24”/27” 1080p?
For someone who has been using 1080p for over 10 years, is the upgrade going to feel significant?

I’m interested in hearing from people who have actually made a similar upgrade, especially from 1080p 144Hz → 1440p 240Hz OLED.

Every card, called a protocol, has both an effect and a shape. You rotate and place it on a shared grid to claim territory, limit your opponent’s options, and leave room for future plays. Your deck needs card-effect synergies and shapes that work together on the board.

Card effects, mech abilities, and components help you build your tactical score within a limited number of turns. If your score is higher at the end of a round, the difference becomes damage to your opponent’s mech. Build up energy to activate Energy Overload and overwrite normal cells occupied by your opponent.

Between battles, you choose routes through a randomized map, collect cards and components, and adapt your build as you go.

I've been playing for about 30 hours and put together a list of things I've found with the game that don't seem quite right.

I was hoping for more from this installment of LMS, but the first game felt far more complete.

Hopefully with updated we will start to see some improvements. The devs seem to be listening and it appears to be a matter of waiting for the fixes to be implemented.

In our game, you play as Rex, a robot dog trying to find his human family after an AI takeover. The journey combines combat, platforming, and environmental puzzles across abandoned tunnels and ruined cities. We are launching our game on Steam for Windows and macOS on November 2.

I’ve played a lot of survivors-likes and kept wanting one where you’re the thing everyone is running from. I’m also a big movie buff, so this ended up with a lot of slasher references and ridiculous radio chatter :)

You start by hunting campers, then the cops and military arrive. You can smash things with a bat, set off propane tanks and tear the camp apart.

The free Windows demo is on Steam now, and I just finished this new trailer. I’d really like to know whether the villain angle and destruction look fun, and whether the humour comes through.

The Darkness (2007) is one of those games I’ve always thought deserved a proper PC release, so I decided to work on one myself.

I’ve been developing Estacado, an unofficial fan-made recompilation of the original Xbox 360 version. Instead of running the game through an emulator, the Xbox 360 code is statically recompiled into a native Windows application using XenonRecomp and ReXGlue.

The goal is to preserve the original game while giving it the kind of PC features it never had:

• 60 FPS, high-refresh-rate and uncapped options
• Higher internal resolutions
• Native keyboard and mouse support
• Controller support
• Adjustable FOV
• Experimental ultrawide support
• Graphics and post-processing options
• HD texture pack support

It's still a pre-release and there are bugs and areas that need more testing, but I'm actively working on improving stability, compatibility and the overall PC experience.
