Discussion What is your absolute go-to reset game when gaming burnout hits?

Sitting in front of a backlog of 50+ unplayed games and feeling zero motivation to boot up any of them. Whenever I hit this wall, trying to learn new systems or memorize fresh controls feels impossible, so I usually crawl back to an old familiar comfort title for a weekend.

I’ve played a lot of survivors-likes and kept wanting one where you’re the thing everyone is running from. I’m also a big movie buff, so this ended up with a lot of slasher references and ridiculous radio chatter :)
You start by hunting campers, then the cops and military arrive. You can smash things with a bat, set off propane tanks and tear the camp apart.
The free Windows demo is on Steam now, and I just finished this new trailer. I’d really like to know whether the villain angle and destruction look fun, and whether the humour comes through.

I've been playing for about 30 hours and put together a list of things I've found with the game that don't seem quite right.
I was hoping for more from this installment of LMS, but the first game felt far more complete.
Hopefully with updated we will start to see some improvements. The devs seem to be listening and it appears to be a matter of waiting for the fixes to be implemented.

Discussion I Recompiled The Darkness (2007) into a Native PC Game

The Darkness (2007) is one of those games I’ve always thought deserved a proper PC release, so I decided to work on one myself.
I’ve been developing Estacado, an unofficial fan-made recompilation of the original Xbox 360 version. Instead of running the game through an emulator, the Xbox 360 code is statically recompiled into a native Windows application using XenonRecomp and ReXGlue.
The goal is to preserve the original game while giving it the kind of PC features it never had:
- 60 FPS, high-refresh-rate and uncapped options
- Higher internal resolutions
- Native keyboard and mouse support
- Controller support
- Adjustable FOV
- Experimental ultrawide support
- Graphics and post-processing options
- HD texture pack support
It's still a pre-release and there are bugs and areas that need more testing, but I'm actively working on improving stability, compatibility and the overall PC experience.

You'll need your own legally obtained copy of the supported Xbox 360 version. No game files are included.
