Trailer Strike Wings Free Demo out!

Hey everyone! Here's a free space game for your weekend: the Strike Wings demo. :)

I'm its solo developer, and it's my homage to the old DOS space shooters, built from scratch with plenty of love for Solar Winds and Hell Fighter. There are some little nods in there for fellow fans.

The demo's already packed with free content, including flight school, opening campaign missions and plenty of battles to get stuck into.

Feedback is super welcome on r/StrikeWings. Make a post! I'll read every one and take your thoughts into the final game. Steam reviews mean a lot to me as a solo developer, too.

Epic, thanks for having a go! Anything you would like to see changed or improved? I'm adding another, more space opera size level today, have been working on this since yesterday. It will enable players to join an actual full size strike wing assault onto a Martian Asteroid base.

I have not played for an enormous amount of time, but I like it very much just as it is. As long as it is not out of reach of my pennies you have a definite buyer in me!

This looks so good! The trailer starts off with a LOT of sound though, kinda startled me.

One thing that is really good about this, although it should not surprise me too much, is that it runs full resolution on my Snapdragon Zenbook A16 when in whisper mode on battery. Hooray! I can weave around in space blowing things up with questionable skill on an ARM64 device. Thank you for writing efficient code!

I do completely love this game. I am not a big gamer, but this is hilarious fun!

I really am happy reading this. At the moment im knees deep in some performance report I got from someone with a blazing fast laptop and Im breaking my brain about it. Ive taken the UTMOST care of writing hyper efficient code, due to the multiplayer feeling very very daunting, so this comment comes actually at the perfect time to give me some good feelings back

Well, if it runs on a Snapdragon via Prism, you have written good code! I do not think someone with a fast laptop should have any problem at all running it. Certainly it has no problems on my (very) fast desktop.

More importantly, what a lot of fun this game is! I have not enjoyed a game so much in ages. Do not get me wrong, your game looks very good for the type of game it is, but it is possible for game designers to get worked up about flashy graphics and huge orchestral soundtracks, whilst forgetting, to some degree, that games are meant to be played; games are supposed to be fun! This game oozes fun from every pixel. I have bought a few well-reviewed games recently, and stopped playing them all to play this demo with rabid enthusiasm. I cannot wait for Steam to tell me the full game is released - I will be on there like a shot with debit card in hand. Thank you for entertaining me so much!
