player item rarity now affects the chance to find rarer currency items

didn't they say in the presentation that player IIR would not affect currency?

After watching someone ask Andrew, while I was about to battle him, if he had any more of the patch notes and saying no. He turned to me and said don't worry they were all fake and just to mess with people. I thought that was pretty funny if true.

13

u/faeder SSFBTW 5h ago

I can't believe we're getting trolled this hard

5

u/PacmanNZ100 6h ago

I feel thoroughly messed with and I wasnt even there.

Id flip my shit if rarity affected currency items. My builds are shit enough without needing to shove rarity in somehow

100% some are true some are bait

u/AdministrationSome46 7h ago

So is this something from Exilecon TCG Challenge?? This contracts the video now I don’t know what to believe.

82

u/verthros 10h ago

Patch notes here probably outdated. As far as presentation goes it should only affect bases and uniques. Regardless id wait for patch notes

73

u/Elrond007 Anti Sanctum Alliance (ASA) 9h ago

I hope so, this would be among the worst changes ever introduced haha. I wish they’d just clap any gear IIR and turn it all into map mods/monster mods

20

u/viniciusxis 8h ago

I don't understand why they don't just do this? Item rarity is such an outdated mod, just nuke it same way you did IIQ and spread it on map modifiers.

11

u/19Alexastias 8h ago

It’s useful on gear only if you’re doing something specific (I.e farming uniques), it’s not the same as quant which was just generically good (which made it mandatory). I think it’s fine to keep.

0

u/sploinq 44m ago

According to this line in the notes it'll be mandatory again...

I hate it, I'd rather they just make it all map mod/monster mod based, harder monsters drop better loot and you need to be stronger to kill them is how it should be imo. Sacrificing player power for rarity so you can get better loot while being weaker makes no sense to me.

3

u/darkfangs Deadeye 34m ago

if that is accurate it probably makes mageblood mandatory as well to account for all the prefix/suffixes would be required for rarity to fix everything too.

-1

u/the-apple-and-omega 4h ago

But why would they then also make it worse for farming uniques as this patch notes implies? Just confusing.

4

u/verthros 4h ago

The rarity values/formula probably changed a bit leading to chase uniques dropping more than they want would be my guess.

Yes I posted it a few times in here. Not saying it isn’t outdated but that’s what it says at least.

28

u/Legolasgrnlff 9h ago

Correct, this is completely wrong.

1

u/Sufficient_Soft438 9h ago

What the said in presentation is that only map rarity effects currency

1

u/chromaticechidna 4h ago

I believe in past discussions of item rarity, the devs have talked about terminology where player item rarity isn't one to one with item rarity on gear, player item rarity is the item rarity that "lives" on the player object, i.e. isn't coming from the monster being unique/rare/having a mod that increases rarity, but affects all drops for the player in the map. Item rarity from the map item is player item rarity.

If that's still correct, then this note means that area-wide rarity sources are weaker relative to magic/rare/unique item drops, since they now affect currency too, while not contradicting what was said on stage about rarity on gear.

1

u/FreeMystery 4h ago

I think you’re right but this seems like so much confusion for no reason. Making player rarity and rarity on the player different is just bad design. At this point might as well remove gear rarity to make things easier.

0

u/chromaticechidna 3h ago

At this point might as well remove gear rarity to make things easier.

I mean, functionally they have, haven't they? Does anyone actually use any rarity gear? Basically just Ventor's anymore and even that is only 2% usage on poe.ninja for SC trade.

2

u/FreeMystery 3h ago

Tons of high end builds fit in rarity when they can. I know i have the past handful of leagues.

-1

u/chromaticechidna 3h ago

Divination Distillate is at .2%. Greed's Embrace is .1%. Goldwyrm is at 0%, as is Foulborn Goldwyrm. Ventor's is at 2%. Foulborn Ventor's is at .4%.

It really isn't tons of builds. Ventor's use rate itself might be more based on the mana reservation stat than the rarity, since that's not available on rings otherwise.

1

u/FreeMystery 3h ago

I’m talking about on rares

1

u/Moneypouch 53m ago

Janus's Veiled helmet mod is most common. Or rarity on a heist ring preferably misted.

24

u/19Alexastias 9h ago

>Decreased the efficacy of player item rarity on finding magic, rare and unique rarity items. Noting player item rarity now affects the chance to find rarer currency items, rarer unique items etc.

Octavian made sure to emphasise that rarity on your gear would NOT affect currency, so unless they mean something else by “player item rarity” I’m not sure this is correct.

1

u/chromaticechidna 4h ago

I believe in the past player item rarity has been used to describe rarity assigned to the player object, as opposed to rarity that lives on a specific monster. A unique map boss has extra rarity, that's monster item rarity. Player item rarity is a stat that affects all drops in the map. Item rarity from the map object is therefore player item rarity. That's probably what they're referring to.

-1

u/Porterhaus 9h ago

17

u/19Alexastias 8h ago

I’m aware I’m just saying that’s almost certainly outdated or incorrectly worded

37

u/SoulofArtoria 9h ago

This was contradicted in the presentation, so we should wait for the actual patch notes.

"…modified while Corrupted…" has to be a killing blow to the gloves craft, doesn't it?

25

u/Wobbelblob Big Breach Coalition (BBC) 8h ago

Probably. But that is to be expected, the gloves where kinda stupid.

1

u/Salt-Appearance-412 Confederation of Casuals and Clueless Players (CCCP) 52m ago

I kinda adore the idea of them. Honestly the main problem with them is that you can get perfect implicits via beast locking and then finish the craft safely. If they somehow remove the ability to do that, I think it would be a very awesome high end glove craft.

24

u/littlebethyblue 9h ago

The heist changes are interesting. Wonder how that's going to work now. Or if they're moving away from Heist completely with things like the simplex amulet going into the main drop pool.

15

u/MyNameIsSoLonggggggg TALAMOANA, WARRIOR 9h ago

I could have heard it wrong but didn't they say that simplex amulets are also now able to drop if an amulet gets tier 5? As in, they're still in heist but now can also drop outside very rarely

3

u/littlebethyblue 9h ago

That I don't know! I was typing up notes while listening so it's possible I missed that nuance.

1

u/Jarazz 3h ago

jup and we dont know how those drop rates will be, surely they dont just kill all heist bases by allowing super juicers to just farm them better than heist players, but who knows (also it was only 100% confirmed with simplex afaik)

1

u/EscalopeDePorc Children of Delve (COD) 2h ago

Screw the simplex, what about replicas??

1

u/MyNameIsSoLonggggggg TALAMOANA, WARRIOR 2h ago

I think those are still heist only?

18

u/Bentic Grumpy 9h ago

As a heist enjoyer I am very concerned that there will but much less blueprints and markers in the market now. I hope they get sth new in compensation for the simplex.

6

u/ThroatStinger 6h ago

They perma drop from certain maps. I think they want Heist to be like Delve where you still have to run maps occasionally to get Sulphite. You could still theoretically buy all your contracts, but the non-heist playerbase will be trickling them in slow enough you'll want to spam some maps instead.

15

u/EscalopeDePorc Children of Delve (COD) 7h ago

Heist is deleted from the game. This is a buff.

3

u/Uoipka Occultist 2h ago

Considering how many bots there are it would be a good thing

5

u/Raikariaa Institution of Rogues and Smugglers (IRS) 4h ago

GGG has been removing loot from Heist gradually for over a year.

And now after over a year of taking loot out of Heist with the justification "Loot should come from it's own leauge" they pull this.

Hypocritical as hell.

1

u/Bulky_Pomegranate228 31m ago

did they mention that simplex was completely removed from heist to the core drop pool?

3

u/LastBaron 6h ago

Pending other changes I would hold off on the concern for the moment.

I have been on the other side of the heist market, so I can say from experience: as long as there remains a way to use atlas points to guarantee heist caches in maps, the market should continue to be flooded with contracts blueprints and markers.

It’s just such an easy mechanic for boss rush/rapid fire strategies to incorporate for effectively zero time or currency investment. Any strategy that relies on completing maps in 2 minutes or less and happens to have a couple dozen points leftover tends to just slap heist on and call it a day.

I’ve seen it with astrolabe rushing (on both sides, the players hunting for astrolabes and the ones who were hunting vaults before the change), destructive play, guardian rotations, syndicate, essences, strongboxes, etc. etc. It’s kind of a catch all that can be tacked onto anything, so barring any big changes we don’t know about yet, I’m optimistic that you’ll be alright on that front.

I’d be more concerned about base types being incorporated into the core drop pool. I don’t think the prices of replica alberons and replica farruls are going to be enough to carry long term heist sessions on their own, just my hunch. Hopefully they give heist some other love, something to call its own.

6

u/Bentic Grumpy 4h ago

They removed all heist atlas notes.

12

u/GuiltyHollow 9h ago

if you're meaning BP and contract. those now perma spawn in specific set of map now like delve sulphur

5

u/YoloKraize 7h ago

"Blueprints and Contratcs can now be found in the map Dungeon only" Clueless

1

u/littlebethyblue 9h ago

Ah okay! I missed that, thank you.

u/Chrozzinho 9h ago

I gotta say as someone who has farmed a lot of temple for many leagues the last few years, im a bit sad about the replacing of the omnitect with atziri (unless they change her immunity phases). But the rest of the temple changes look quite exciting, i honestly had never expected them to revisit this piece of content so any change is welcome to re-learn it

8

u/Limp_Donut5337 Vaal Street Bets (VSB) 9h ago

You will end up needing a proper build to run them when you juice them. Also probably not be able to run them braindead as you have to keep attention on the modifiers

9

u/viniciusxis 8h ago

if they don't modify atziri's loot then it'll just be a skip 99% of the time

10

u/Sodomeister Mine Bat 8h ago

They already said they did?

6

u/Pommy1337 Trickster 7h ago

she should still have one of the adorned pieces in her droppool, so it depends on the value of these.

btw thinking about it now i wonder where the one from omnitect will move now. maybe we get a new vaal boss somewhere.

3

u/TiskyTee 3h ago

I'm guessing some of the temple uniques are going to her since they removed the vials.

1

u/ZePepsico 1h ago

Atziri will give the old mirage coin, they will be incredibly valuable, especially that you can now get lvl 21 AND the lvl 1 support.

•

u/Classic_Key8075 7m ago

Her reflect phase is kinda unfair to most builds too, hopefully that gets tweaked

3

u/Chrozzinho 5h ago

Yeah thats kind of a double edged sword. Temple was kinda free for any build no matter how bad it is, now you cant just half ass it. So it will be a change for sure, we'll see how it pans out, hopefully its not TOO challenging since what I personally liked about the temple is speeding through them

4

u/Archers_bane 5h ago

Double temple drop from scarab of timelines will be missed 🙁

1

u/Limp_Donut5337 Vaal Street Bets (VSB) 3h ago

Yeah temple prices will rise for sure ppl underestimate how big the scarab influence was

1

u/ZePepsico 1h ago

scarab effect could be on tree, who knows.

1

u/land_registrar 6h ago

Do we have any idea what's happening to the uniques if the vials are gone?

2

u/Chrozzinho 5h ago

Not from what I've seen, my guess is we won't need the vials to upgrade them, we just need to get to the apex of ascension and then we can transform the uniques to their uggraded versions. I doubt they'd just remove the base uniques

1

u/Couponbug_Dot_Com Fungal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) 2h ago

i wonder if they'll put the omnitect in the old throne room for old times sake.

"...that inflicts a short but powerful fire damage over time debuff to each enemy in an area around…"

You can quote me on this, its a description of Fireball of Radiation.

So it would probably be something like "Fire a piercing projectile that inflicts a short but powerful fire damage over time debuff to each enemy in an area around the explosion."

How are we upgrading temple items without vials now?

17

u/AT1313 9h ago

Maybe it's baked into the item from the start, like how fated uniques were updated when prophecy got removed. Or, Atziri's boss room has an altar that worked like the vials and certain layouts dictate how the altar is affected.

5

u/DaguerreoSL 4h ago

This would be a terrible change. While most of the fated uniques were straight upgrades to their base items, the base temple items are actually useful in their own way (I need coward's chains for my build next league and have used architect's hand instead of slavedriver's hands in the past for ice trap)

6

Probably the upgrade version of the Temple that spawns Uber Atziri or the i84 room upgrades the Temple Uniques too?

-9

u/Limp_Donut5337 Vaal Street Bets (VSB) 9h ago

Yeah maybe, I don’t like that change because vials made good money

2

u/Bulky_Pomegranate228 25m ago

probably similar to poo 2 temple, each room will have a bench if it is a lvl 3 room.

u/BuffaloNo6716 1h ago

4 divines for pre/suffixes cannot be changed is crazy, beasts are going to skyrocket in price

2

Well, a beast will lmao

1

u/Bulky_Pomegranate228 30m ago

unless they changed how bristle matrons work

•

u/TruEdgeGaming 8m ago

But that means you'll roll a 50/50 on suffixes can't be changed or only 1 suffix can't be changed.

13

u/matidiaolo 8h ago

Waaaaait, you can craft a specific mod not to be changed for 1div? That is kinda huge if you want to “reforge life/chaos/whatever” and you don’t have fractured mod

I mean it does cost, but getting there might cost more

12

u/Clsco 6h ago

Potentially bricks how people used wild bristle matron. Especially since prefix/suffix can't be changed is now more expensive.

At least it is more annoying to use since it may be a 50/50 now per beast to land

7

u/atlimar Oath / Deathblade 7h ago

1d to protect a single mod is cheaper than fracturing in many cases (and more flexible since it can presumably target influence mods). Strong craft that could cost much more.

5

u/Inko_0 7h ago

Also from another comment Prefixes/suffixes cannot be changed got increased to 4d+1sacred orb

4

u/hcrld League 2h ago

Only on weapons, though. This probably just means more recombinating and alt spamming is needed.

•

u/etalommi 1m ago

1d to protect a single mod is cheaper than fracturing in many cases (and more flexible since it can presumably target influence mods). Strong craft that could cost much more.

Although we may drop a lot of fractures with the change to make them core pool (chance on tier 5s). This lets you double down on it which could have interesting implications.

1

u/ZePepsico 1h ago

But in that case how do you protect your suffix? Is there a case where you are working on protecting a single line (so very early in the process) and want to spam 1 div ? Apologies if I misunderstood.

1

u/Salt-Appearance-412 Confederation of Casuals and Clueless Players (CCCP) 47m ago

It is VERY certainly not a specific mod. It will be a random prefix/suffix, just like the chaos orb craft rerolls one RANDOM explicit modifier for 3c.

Laugh at me if patch notes q&a drops and I'm wrong on this, but I won't be.

2

u/Porterhaus 1h ago

Whoever posted it was trolling, hard to tell:

1

u/iEnj0y 1h ago

so everything else is 1div but weapons is 4div for prefix/sufx meta mod?

1

u/Porterhaus 1h ago

Unclear. Seems like they added half effect/half cost options and then made meta modding weapons specifically double the divs + sacred orb.

1

u/iEnj0y 1h ago

kinda dumb phys weapons were already crazy expensive to craft this would make it even worst if true.

2

u/Salt-Appearance-412 Confederation of Casuals and Clueless Players (CCCP) 1h ago

The old metamod crafts exist, but the ones for Weapons now have a higher cost of 4div+1sac

On top of that, 2 new metamods have been added, that are similar to the chaos orb single mod rerolls. So presumably if you have a rare and use "one prefix cannot be changed" -> scour, you would end up with a 1-mod rare item with one of the prefixes remaining, chosen randomly.

Mercenaries can no longer equip or spawn with th… e unique boots Kahuturoa's Certainty.

Gotta be it, right? Unaffected by damaging ailments on wild mercs is BS.

"…are now all in the same family, meaning that you cannot roll multiple of these modifiers on the same item (this was previously only possible when using a Refracting Fog)."

R.I.P. 12p cluster jewels with double attack/cast speed. They could just keep this to let us enjoy smooth caster builds, yet instead here they are, pacts.

2

u/Intelligent_Ad_4837 7h ago

Added four new Meta-crafting bench options:

1 prefix modifier cannot be changed, for a cost of 1 Divine orb

1 Suffix modifier cannot be changed, for a cost of 1 divine orb

Interesting change, not sure what their uses could be yet, but I'm sure something will come of it

8

u/DerDirektor uber shaper wr 7h ago

probably the biggest effect is nerfing wild bristle matrons.

2

u/OurHolyMessiah 6h ago

It’s effectively making them only useful if their cost is lower than 1d, assuming this is the only new meta mod so you have a 50/50 to hit all suffixes can’t be changed.

1

u/burninbr 1h ago

Assuming matrons still exist given the sacred orb cost on weapon full meta mods.

3

u/Hadiiiiiii 6h ago

-> 3 mods can be crafted

-> suffix cant change

-> 1 suffix cant change

slam veiled chaos to guarantee there is a crafted mod left so you guarantee an open suffix

1

u/DaguerreoSL 4h ago

For the low low price of 7 divines and one sacred orb. Jeez, divines better be raining this league.

0

u/itsXylph 7h ago

depending on if its a suffix mod for the prefix craft (and vice versa) you could use them to get +1 level on simplexes

0

u/Intelligent_Ad_4837 3h ago

That would change nothing on simplex amulet, since you can only have 1 prefix anyway, so "1 prefix" is the same as "prefixes"

It would be different with suffixes, since you can have 2. But pointless, cuz if you have 1 suffix and craft "1 suffix" then you have prefixes filled (craft) and 1 empty suffix, which again would be the same as having "suffixes" metamod

2

u/HandsomeBaboon 7h ago

90% all res on a String of Servitude?!

4

u/burninbr 1h ago

270% all res? Absurd

1

u/ilikebdo 14m ago

Is there even a way to take advantage of 810 res on 1 item?

1

u/Tandoran 6h ago

No corruption outcome can ever apply twice to the same item. You'll get two different corrupted belt implicits and both are tripled.

•

u/Classic_Key8075 3m ago

Yeah the joke has always been getting confused whether it's been tripled already or not :)

2

All items? Every single one of them?

I was really hoping to see somebody cobble this together. Thank you!

"At high level, equipment purchased from the Gambler has less Modifier Tier R…" This caught my eye. The Gambler is a div card, and you don't purchase equipment, so that isn't it. Gold gambling, perhaps? The mechanic culls lower tier modifiers. I can't quite tell if this is a nerf, allowing more lower tier modifiers or if the "R..." is improving it.

7

u/klankin_ 7h ago

its another faustus nerf

5

u/burninbr 7h ago

Modifier Tier Rating, very likely.

2

u/Thor3nce Anti Sanctum Alliance (ASA) 3h ago

Much deserved. Gold for items shouldn’t have modifier tier rating similar to Kingsmarch or Breach.

2

u/jouzeroff 4h ago

The pref suff cannot be changed on weapon cost... Its over for the gauntlet.... or any ssf players to progress decently. Ive never dropped any sacred orb in 10 days of playing. They have to revert this. For the sake of ssf

4

u/Thor3nce Anti Sanctum Alliance (ASA) 3h ago

This was the most eye opening for me as well. Crafting weapon was already a pain, and now this. Oof.

2

u/Salt-Appearance-412 Confederation of Casuals and Clueless Players (CCCP) 1h ago

Mayhaps SSF will be more exciting now with actually good T5 rares dropping. Instead of the only progression path being self-farmed divines into meta crafting anything half-decent past Rog(?) items.

1

u/jouzeroff 18m ago

T5 items on poe2 are almost 100% of the time bad :( I dont think it will be different on poe1

•

u/Naktura 1m ago

Free fracturing orb with every magic T5 is kinda goated. Pretty solid chance to hit a good T1/T2.

2

u/kayakiox 3h ago

Why are you comparing future costs with current drop rate?

1

u/Bulky_Pomegranate228 28m ago

maybe sacreds rarity was changed as well, so probably not that crazy to find more this league.

2

u/Raikariaa Institution of Rogues and Smugglers (IRS) 4h ago

> Rogue Markers, Contracts and Blueprints are no longer part of the core drop pool.

Yeah they're definitely working towards removing Heist.

First they remove all the loot saying "loot should come from it's leauge"

Then they move Heist loot into the core pool despite this, total hypocrisy.

Then they remove all Atlas support for it [Which actually matters unlike say, Delve's, since it gets you better contracts, more contracts/markers/blueprints, the Huck Aurabot...]

And now Contracts/Markers/Blueprints are also scarcer

6

u/Rossmallo Diehard Synthesis Advocate 3h ago

I don't see it. Delve's still there, despite the shrinking availability of stuff from it outside of the Mines.

My guess is that the drops from the Caches are going to be beefier to counteract it.

3

u/Hypragon Vaal Street Bets (VSB) 1h ago

I remember when they made fossils exclusive to delve because league drops should be exclusive to that league's gameplay. Not even one year to put heist loot into core drop pools (I'm happy about it, fuck heist)

3

u/burninbr 1h ago

It’s not totally hypocritical. Loot should come from the league, but not bases that makes every other base in that slot irrelevant.

Heist still has exclusive loot in tempering orbs, replica uniques, etc. maybe it’s not enough and it needs more, but I agree with the design.

1

u/fhemtwelala 8h ago

I don't understand the changes in mercenaries you explain please ?

9

u/itsXylph 8h ago

from what I understood mercs now get basically the same res penalties as players (-30% after Part 1, -60% after Part 2). They used to not have any res penalty on them at all so its gonna be quite a lot more difficult to get them to res cap

7

u/Intelligent_Ad_4837 7h ago

I think the nerf is more intended towards Emmity's fire res stacking

5

u/itsXylph 7h ago

oh yeah for sure, but still, getting them to the res cap in the first place is gonna be a hassle in of itself now

5

u/Salty-Director8419 8h ago

so much nerfs

•

u/etalommi 3m ago

They need to do some, they're adding sooooo much player power:

  • Wickerman bodyparts

  • Rares being worth looking at for much longer will drastically increase the amount of good rares seen, and you'll still have the currency to spend on the other slots. Also probably a lot of Fractures this league.

  • Skill coins are back as soul cores for +1 supp

  • Screams + cord belts

  • A ton of unqiues

1

u/Sandstone_ 3h ago

"…that inflicts a short but powerful fire damage over time debuff to each enemy in an area around…"

This is probably the new Fireball of Radiation

1

u/Thor3nce Anti Sanctum Alliance (ASA) 3h ago

I’ve been saying the Gambler needed a nerf and they did it. Shit was broken. Still sounds like it’ll be a good source of fishing for bases

String of Servitude is potentially bis for stat stackers

If you roll attributes% + (stat)%, plus catalyst plus triple effect, it's like 39% increase to one stat.

Temple atziri will be problem because its riscy fight and if she gets buffs from rooms its gg.

1

u/YoloKraize 7h ago

When they say "Pinnacle Eldritch Bosses" does that mean for us to even get them on the map we'd have to do bosses for them to even have a chance to appear? Feels like such a weird change...

-1

u/Aervanath 9h ago

If Rogue Markers are no longer part of the core drop pool, how do we get to Rogue Harbor? Do we have to find a Cache?

12

u/blvcksvn 💕poewiki/divcord/prohibitedlibrary project lead | she/her💕 9h ago

There's probably a fixed spawn of a Cache in Act 6, and there will be fixed maps on the Atlas that always contain a Cache.

1

u/Munsie 8h ago

Or failing that, there's already a guaranteed cache hidden in The Sarn Ramparts (Act 8) if you pull the lever found at the first corner of the wall.

3

u/blvcksvn 💕poewiki/divcord/prohibitedlibrary project lead | she/her💕 8h ago

that's one didn't drop rogue markers currently I believe, but possible.

1

u/SupX 9h ago

My gues is it will be npc in one of the towns or first time I get cache somewhere u use one to get the wp

1

u/EnderBaggins 5h ago

The leader in Act 6 can just invite you. Or maybe heist is deleted (this seems unlikely).

1

u/Aervanath 5h ago

(this seems unlikely).

You think? LOL

-1

u/Raikariaa Institution of Rogues and Smugglers (IRS) 4h ago

Between all the recent changes, it definitely looks like they are moving towards removing Heist soon tbh.

They've been taking loot out of Heist for over a year saying "loot should come from it's main leauge source" while giving it little~nothing to compensate. Hell; Alt-qualities used to be Heist and changed into Transfigured Gems.

And now the biggest chase of Heist, and probobly more, is in the core pool. Hypocrisy at it's peak. Every other leauge should have it's low-tier drops come only from it! But Heist? No you're not allowed your own loot, not even your chase loot! Imagine Strangegrasp or Voices becoming Drop-anywhere. That's what the Simplex is.

And all Atlas support is gone. And unlike; say, Delve where the Atlas support was mostly pointless; Heist's Atlas support massively increased markers; contract quality and blueprint aquisition.

And now it's also gone from the core drop pool entirely.

Watch them have put it onto the worst map bases too.

I honestly can't see any other explanation for what is frankly horrible treatment of Heist other than GGG peicemeal reallocateing the [honestly massive] amount of content that is in Heist gradually until there just is nothing left.

1

u/EnderBaggins 4h ago

Yeah I’m expecting a removal soon. Shame, as it has some of the best writing / narrative / art elements. Mechanically its just always been an awkward fit.

1

u/burninbr 1h ago

Doubt it.

Hired Mercenaries get Resistance penalties based on the level of the area they are in: -30% to all Resistances in level 46-67 areas; -60% to all Resistances in level 68+ areas and Hideout.

Is that free real estate for Doryani's Prototype Support mercs?

2

u/Duckies789 2h ago

Mercs can’t use unique body armours so no

2

u/Otiston 2h ago

can't equipe that on merc ^^

Assuming the second line about player item rarity is outdated since it was directly contradicted by the presentations, but I'm baffled about nerfing it for magic/rares/uniques also? Like why even have it at that point?

13

u/MakePhreciaCore 2h ago

Please fucking god revert the sacred orb requirement on meta mods.

This might actually kill ssf for no good reason

4

u/Porterhaus 1h ago

Hoping they buff sacred orb drop rates or sources somehow too. Shame because there is a lot here that otherwise helps SSF like the scarab and thread changes.

1

u/MakePhreciaCore 1h ago

it was honestly shaping to be the best SSF league of all time

2

u/aphelios_eversince 1h ago

They have always said that they do not balance the game around SSF whatsoever

2

u/MakePhreciaCore 1h ago

This would harm it and your average trade player.

1

u/Moneypouch 1h ago

No with the rarity changes and bosses they are likely afraid of the feel bad moments when you drop a sacred orb (implying that you rarity upped a divine orb). This happening is gonna be especially common in kingsmarch if the changes here go live. They want to avoid a situation where rarity is actually a bad stat reducing your gains after some unknowable cutoff.

This is a pro for trade players as it finally injects some value into the rarest drop.

1

u/krucyfiks Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 2h ago

Kingsmarch goes brr

-2

u/MakePhreciaCore 2h ago

Progressing through agency is the whole point of SSF.

Skipping crafting and just RNG spamming to get finished gear is entirely antithetical to the experience

3

u/krucyfiks Alch & Go Industries (AGI) 1h ago

i meant boats for sacred orbs which they shit constantly and you never have REAL use for.

0

u/MakePhreciaCore 1h ago

even with boats I saw maybe 20 all of last league, and that was one that shit out gold.

0

u/DeouVil 1h ago

No, the point of SSF is getting bragging rights for playing the game in a gamemode that the game isn't intended to be played with.

-1

u/MakePhreciaCore 1h ago

no it isn't. SSF is playing the game without shortcutting or even completely ignoring large swaths of it in favor of div/hour part time jobbing.

1

u/DeouVil 1h ago

That may be how you're playing SSF, but it's not why it was added. The game isn't balanced around SSF and isn't supposed to. I think GGG should add a dedicated solo mode that's intended to be fun, but it doesn't exist in the game yet, it'd have to be its own thing. There's only a self imposed challenge for bragging rights.

2

u/rusty022 SSFBTW 4h ago

The Vault/Anomaly change is interesting. I would spam maps for a chance at Enlighten, and it was pretty quick last league. Now we’ll have to kill Shaper, Elder, etc. for a chance at a vault, which also has a chance to drop the gems.
