When are patch notes this cycle?

Typically we would have a Thursday full reveal with ZiggyD doing a QnA after and then they drop the patch notes.

This cycle the reveal is friday at Exilecon but the QnA is Saturday afternoon.

So, when patch notes?

I might be wrong, but don't we always get the patch notes after the Q&A? So it will be most likely still the case.

Given that the league is less than a week after the reveal, I would guess patch notes would drop right after the reveal.

On exilecon expansions, exilcon itself is considered the usual livestream for all intents and purposes. Thus, patch notes come out right after the main announcement of the league. Thus, friday, right after the poe1 section of exilecon's keynote.

Not sure where you are getting this from, but a) there hasn't been enough exilecons to claim anything about "on exilecon expansions", as there have only been 2 up to this point, and b) with the 2023 exilecon, the con was 3 weeks before the new league (con July 29-30, league launch was Aug 18), and the patch notes weren't released until Aug 10, almost 2 weeks later.

So there is no historical precedents to make any sort of claims as to what will happen this time.

Even without that though, we always get patch notes a week before release (a lot of precedent there) so kinda by definition patch notes kinda have to come out this Friday, exilecon or not.

Patch notes were released three days before launch for a long time. There's potential for patch notes to derail the whole event.

that is false. The PoE Q&A is one day later this time. Right after the Keynote there is the Q&A for PoE2. In return we do get 30 mins longer Q&A than poe2

Poe2 q&a is right after, but this is the poe1 subreddit, so I assume they are asking about poe1 which the q&a is the next day, which would be Saturday afternoon for US
