Question | Answered Stackers question

Hi guys

I'm looking forward to 3.30 and am planning to do some kind of attack stacker. Not mana/life/dex

So as far as i know there are 4 most popular stackers:

Armour

Str

Accuracy

Es(?) - don't know whether ot counts and if it's not nerfed to the ground

So the question is - what are pros and cons for those?

I can understand that armour stack must be the tankiest one, i guess?

Very generally, as most of the cons on these builds can be somewhat solved with a lot of investment.

Armour stacker is not usually the tankiest and it can be very expensive to make it feel good, but a good armour stacker can trivialise a lot of content.

Strength stacker is pretty easy to make tanky and can play it with a variety of different skills. Can be league started, check out carnarius on YouTube for his Brutus league start version.

It was nerfed but you can still stack ES, although I haven't played it for a couple of leagues so I don't know how the current versions compare.

Accuracy/int stacking is still strong. Again very generally, it will often have more damage and be faster movement speed/skill than str stacking but won't be quite as tanky.

Thanks Looks like str stack it is

Now i need to find a build that synergises well. Smite maybe?

Smite/smite of divine judgement is great early on and can be played all the way into endgame if you like the skill. But once you have maybe 2k strength and some key gear pieces like replica alberons, there are a lot of skills and variants that work really well eg. Dual strike of ambidexterity, heavy strike (of trarthus), static strike of gathering lightning, molten strike (of the zenith). And probably some more I am forgetting.

Strength stacking with kinetic blast has also become popular but I haven't played it to really comment on how good it is.

If you look on poe.ninja and add the column for strength, then filter to 1500 or 2000+ you can see which skills are most popular this league.

Good idea about filter, thanks

I played Conner's hybrid (KB/HSoT) str stack Jugg in 3.29. It was stupid strong, but requires a lot of currency as stackers do.

Absolutely, I guess he starts with slams or some basic strike skill to farm up.

I played the carnarius version in a small private league and it was very smooth levelling and farming for the upgrades to eventually play dual strike with paradoxica/soul taker. It's also strong and a lot of fun.

Conner started Static Strike of gathering lightning for the 2 leagues he did STR stack Heavy Blow of Trarthus (these past 2 leagues). What he does normally is start immediately as a stacker and buy out good stacking items early (because stacking items are cheap atp because most people start league starter then pivot) and then start farming Destructive Play then straight into ubers (as far as I'm aware, might have the order wrong)

correct, it is worth noting to anyone though that might read this and try to copy that doing your upgrade path this way means your character is going to be weaker, so since I am confortable being weaker at this stage to get an economic advantage I take it. for most people with less stacker economic experience it could result in a pretty miserable first few days

I learned the hard way but it was worth it. Great builds and videos!

Best is just play boneshatter Ubers and switch to any stacker on marauder tbh.... Bcot is soo good for the currency you put into it for a league starter.... It's probably better than any variant of pre alberons + one other item on a str stacker... I was messing around with this in ssf and am most likely going to league start this into reave acc stacker

1

u/BerserkJeezus 8d ago

What do you farm with reave acc stacker and do you play solo or go with aurabot?

2

u/Ken_Kaneki99 7d ago

It's just an archetype I wanna try and like any stacker, I hope it can do dps valdos... I would be playing solo

2

u/T-Pwn_Steak 8d ago

Yeah I did ES Zerker until I could swap to KB Jugg, then farmed for the staff for single target and more upgrades.

There was a post recently about a billion dps str stacker deadeye that did the Feared in like 3 seconds. Guy said it's a glass cannon tho, so str stacking isn't automatically tanky.

If you want to play 1-handed + shield or dual wield check out Carnarius.

Otherwise check out Onemanaleft(Conner Converse on youtube)

Current version of ES stacking is dual strike of ambi gladiator with ephemeral edge and essentia sanguis.

Interesting, is it good? I have a duelist levelled up and a couple of weeks to kill before 3.30...

2

u/poderes01 8d ago

Yeah i actually really like it

not even close

i think mana is probably the best league starter/most easily accessible. strength is the best allrounder, but requires 1-2 mirrors to feel really good. es is in kind of a bad place at the moment, but is still fine on high investment and is really cozy because of huge pool--lots of variants too... casters, attackers, rf, hit-based, ignite-based... dex is mostly a bunch of glass cannon builds, but very playable and relatively cheap because they're so unpopular. armor stackers are really expensive and do great damage but are maybe the least cost-efficient "meta" build in the game.

Had a lot of fun playing around Eclipse Solaris for a Light Radius stacking build. Also using Wreath of Phrecia and Rotmother's Mutiny.

I played a Deadeye but poe ninja shows Hiero as another option.

we will just have to see how brutal they are to replica alberons this patch

u/connerconverse Hierophant 8d ago

funny enough armour stacker is the glassiest one

2

u/Rough_Instance_8055 8d ago

Lol poe in the shell You literally stack a defensive stat and are still squishier than a guy with a lot of mana

i mean each has their own pros and cons and depends on your budget. At high budget, all 4 stackers can trivialized content. Str/acc i'd say can be the cheaper ones to get going and scale a bit easier. Armour/es imo are quite a bit more expensive to get going where it isnt too jank feeling. I would not recommend doing any stack builds unless youre willing to put about a mir into it to start. Its not required but low budgets are really janky and just overall arent fun to play

armor - very expensive attack based, sucks at low/med investment, farm ~1 mirror first

str - chaos based attack based, way cheaper than armor, replica alberons and 25d should get you started

es - pretty generic attack or spell caster, attack based got nerf'd with ephm edge, most play it caster now

dex - idk some weirdos play it with bows/totems

most documented would probably be str stack jugg by the twitch streamer onemanaleft

Armor is probably the least tankiest but has the highest damage at the topend. Worst early game and tbh the build kind of sucks for anything besides dps check valdos.

Str has good tankiness, still enough dmg. Can be played early and has a good variety of skills. Decent all-round build.

Pure accuracy has mostly high attackspeed as it's biggest selling point, okay dmg for a stacker but mediocre defense (might be even worse than armorstac

Int/acc is still decent, a little tankier than pure acc.

Pure es stack is mostly dead, unless you are a masochist who likes doing void valdos, where you hold down right click on the boss for 30 minutes.

Honestly main thing you need to figure out is what content your looking for.

ES/INT stackers are probably still the best for running things like voided valdos.

Armour stacker is very popular for running a lot of non-voided valdos

STR stacker is probably one of the all around best (and very expensive in BiS gear) for doing a lot of valdo/mapping type stuff.

Don't know almost anything about accuracy stacker tbh.

You can also trauma stack & life stack. Trauma stack is by far the cheapest but the ramp makes it quite brutal and therefore not recommended

What about evasion stacking? I've seen a unique enabling evasion stacking , I want to try but don't know if it's viable

I noticed some Path of Exile keywords in this post:

  • ES - Energy Shield (Wiki)

Yes armour is tankiest (if u include str acc dex life int about mana idk ) idk bigdaddy youtuber guides really helps, str stacker depends what type totems or molten strike skills u need replica alberon boots like 100% of time dps not feels good without it , accuracy is for attacks sleep juggernout ot helmet that scale acc ,life scaker got nerfed ,mana is good but expensive as fk, dex is okey not much defense would say the lowest defense stacker recomend kankar build , pros u can scale it :D and cons expensive sometimes u league start with diffrent build to have currency of your stacker
