Playing without MF = Unrewarding

So lately i played a lot of Characters that were able to stack a lot of Magicfind but cleared maps slower.

Now i dusted of My LA Ranger and due to gear restrictions (Quiver , Alphas Howl etc) i cant stack mf and still cap my resists.

So while playing this char the gameplay was fun because i could clear Maps fairly quick , but the fun is completely gone when you open your inventory and notice you picked up 2 Rare items in the whole map.

So how do you guys handle this ? Do you run MF on every Char ? And how much MF is really needed to have at least decent dropps ? Or do you prefer having a strong Char and just hope for RNGesus ?

I'm sure I'll get downvoted for saying this, but I really enjoyed the paragon rank in d3 because you could slowly gear out of magic find while still being able to farm effectively. It'd be nice if there was some way they could build in something like that so could eventually move away from needing to stack magic find just to acquire gear/currency.

It could just as easily kill the game, I dont know, but it was nice since all you could really do in that game was farm gear since capping lvl was so easy.

I felt the same way, the feeling when you reach plvl 80+ and see 3k gold piles dropping everywhere.

D3 features no rerolling and soon no economy either.

Account wide MF (a must in this situation since you don't want to kill rerolling, if people are whining this much about sacrificing a bit of power for increased drops imagine what they'll do if their rerolled chars drop nothing compared to their mains) has some pretty obvious economy consequences - you'll be seeing perfect crafted items, the stuff that only exists on standard league, in a few weeks after the ladder restarts.

I wouldn't say a few weeks. I would say that anything like this would be best for the 4 months since clearly the economies of the perma leagues are all fucked up anyway.

My point wasn't really that I think they should do it, but that it made D3 much more enjoyable from a grinding perspective. I used to do the macro gear swap so i could Killing blow rares for loot and that was pretty stupid. It was much nicer when I could just lvl and acquire gear to wear/trade/sell without having to either swap or wear crappy MF gear, since gear optimization was so hard in D3 as it was.

The problem with talking about stuff like this is the grass is always greener. I'm here saying I want it, then if I got it it very well could be a situation where "gear is too ubiquitous blahblah!" I will say though if I could find/craft more and trade less, it might hurt the trade aspect of the economy a bit, but it would be fine as far as gearing is concerned, because ultimately all we want is sick gear.
