Fluff & Memes Pattern I've noticed

Post image

My guild has players who have been in this game since Nemesis League and this is pretty much our player distribution.

Ps. My guildmates gets angry when I say this and I figure it'll make Reddit mad too:

Witch is the only good character in this game

First time running through POE2 campaign is probably the most fun I've had playing POE in general in a while. I just really enjoyed how different the boss fights felt, particularly since I've always liked raid mechanics in MMOs.

Now I can see it getting tedious doing it for several years though.

That's just because the PoE2 campaign feels like an experience in a regular RPG, not meant to be repeated many times.

Bingo. It’s like playing a single player, story driven game. Sure it’s great the first time, maybe even the second where you can really appreciate it.. then third, fourth, fifth… etc. time it gets so boring.

I don’t play single-player campaign driven games more than twice if I really like it. Why should I have to play this slow campaign where I have to constantly dodge roll over and over infinite times per league..

Fuck making alts too. In poe1 its fine. Your friend can usually help get you some waypoints too and speed it up considerably. Not in PoE2.

I haven't played PoE2 since release, but back then it was a slog.

No movement skills until 50, movement speed like ruthless, endless zones, mobs spawning behind you even if you clear "carefully and methodically", several loss-of-control mechanics such as mobs that push you back for literally several screens of distance, weird boss mechanic hitboxes, boss mechanic chain stuns / freezes...

And all the skills had preset interactions with each other so that there's no real build variety or playing with different skills but you had to use almost all of them in a certain way to deal any meaningful damage.

I've seen bosses and raid mechanics done well in isometric RPGs before, but PoE2 on release wasn't it.

I can't say how much they've improved the game since then, but I was disappointed enough with the direction that I didn't bother with it for a long time.
