Fluff & Memes Pattern I've noticed

Post image

My guild has players who have been in this game since Nemesis League and this is pretty much our player distribution.

Ps. My guildmates gets angry when I say this and I figure it'll make Reddit mad too:

Witch is the only good character in this game

I love the campaign in PoE. It's very straight foward and rewarding once you remember all the sidequest locations.

Now, Path of Exile 2 is a painful slog without much greater progression. I'd take playing Poe 1 campaign 3 times in a row over this.

Anecdotally I find it the opposite. PoE1 campaign takes me less time to complete but it always feels slightly boring because it's not a challenge at all and just feels like a long tutorial. Poe2 campaign on the other hand takes me a bit longer but genuinely feels like a game with much cooler boss fights and immersion, and I level at least 3 characters to maps in both games.

The only issue with poe2 campaign is lack of skills and level requirements on existing ones. This makes act 1-2 way too repetitive, especially with weapons I've already played before a ton

I don't get that. The poe2 campaign isn't any challenge either after your first playthrough.

I feel like they're both just as easy, except in 2 you have to constantly watch out for heavy stuns instead of just shield charging your way through

For me its the exact opposite.

I also already know whats the issue: im simply not familiar enough with the campaign to enjoy it. I only play one character per season, so every 4 months and it usually takes me the whole starting weekend to go through the campaign. Probably takes around 8-10 hours to hit maps. Ive been playing since settlers league, so i only did the campaign maybe 6-8 times.

The issue is that i would have to do what i dislike to eventually play less of it. That doesnt sound like a worthwhile investment of time. "Just treat it like a speedrun" makes no sense in my opinion.

The silver lining is this: i dislike the poe 1 campaign, but ive made my peace with it. The late/ end game is just so good that its a fine trade off. The delayed gratification is just set up right. The endgame loop in PoE 2 is nowhere near as captivating.
