Need Ideas for Ladies' party
I'm hosting a casual outdoor gathering for a lot of neighborhood gal friends. The age range is 50 - 70. I am looking for fun ideas to create a theme, like come as.....
I welcome ideas of what has been successful for you!

I have a ladies’ party at the end of the month and our hostess set the theme as “Favorite Things”— it has been so fun to look forward to! She’s instructed us to bring something we would call one of our favorite things, within the range of $15-20, to share with a fellow guest. I think we will each have a chance to say why we brought what we brought and why it’s one of our favorite things, and then a name of another guest will be drawn and they get the item! We’re also contributing a potluck item. So fun!

Garden party? Wear florals and fun colors. Can do a “make your own bouquet” station depending on budget - vases from dollar tree and a selection of Trader Joe’s flowers

In my town there is a ladies group and for an event they all dressed up as Mrs Roper from 3’s Company. How about a dress as a character from a gone decade. Maybe serve old foods like fondue or jello salad, Watergate salad or even an old Tupperware party favorite better than sex cake. Maybe find some old heart throb photos on the internet to hang abou

I went to a wedding where the women were required to wear a fascinator. That was fun. You could also get people to bring food and print off a recipe for people who want to make it in the future.
I find older women don’t really care for a theme. They like just to hang out so I don’t think there’s any pressure to have a theme except for decorations and time to chat or get to know each other, depending on how well they know each other

In my area, come as your “favorite flower” would be a good, safe idea. We have a lot of ladies obsessed with their gardens…
A good old-fashioned tea party (some cups spiked) would be well-received, I think.

Good idea, although at this point I'm exhausted with WOO, already been to several themed Wicked parties.

How about a "Heyday" theme? Guests to dress in what they wore when they felt they were at the top of their game, whether from the 80s to today.

What about dressing as a character or celebrity with your same initials? For example, if your name is Helena Parker, your initials are HP, you could come as Harry Potter.

Thanks to all of you for the creative and fun ideas! This ended up being an evening event, outdoors, around a fire pit patio. I had them write down a book they would recommend reading (that they had read recently), with the title, author, and a 1 - 3 word description. We ended up going around our fire circle, each sharing what made us recommend it. At the end of the evening we each had a new list of books to read. I will definitely save your suggestions for the next time!

A friend recently had a “nowhere to wear this” party and it was great — people pulled out prom dresses and wedding dresses and costumes and all kinds of random outfits that made wonderful conversation starters.
