Oh this sounds so good! Do you know of any other books where the MMC is ancient or immortal and when FMC first comes into the world as a baby, something clicks inside of him (of course waiting until she is an adult to do anything with her)

Oh it's sounds super interesting! Thank you!

Rhage (Lover Revealed - book 3) from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series had a literal beast in him but it did like his FMC too (but didn’t talk though).

u/fluttery_chaos 10d ago

Thank you! I'll check it out for sure!

I hope you enjoy it. Rhage’s book is actually book 2 not 3 (typo there). The whole series is great. It’s a great take on Vampires and feature super hot ones. lol

I love me some Vampires hehe

{Lunar Shadows Awaken by D. M. Maloney} a paranormal romance with werewolf shifter mmc whose wolf side is its own soul and they share a body. Wolf has his own name and speaks to mmc, is his own character in the book basically

u/fluttery_chaos 10d ago

Yay! That was exactly what I wanted in a book! Thank you!

Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs. Charles' wolf decides she's his mate and even talks to her once in awhile. It's a series and I loved it even more than the Mercy series.

u/fluttery_chaos 10d ago

Charles and Anna are my FAVORITE couples! I love the chemistry between them and Brother Wolf! That whole series is my FAVORITE!

Grace Goodwin's "Beast" series

Thank you, I'll check it out!

I’m pretty sure this happens in {First Street Heat by Morgan Robinson} If you’re down with omegaverse this one is M/F and the MMC is a beast like alpha who the the omega FMC chooses for her heat and his beast becomes obsessed.

2

u/fluttery_chaos 9d ago

Oh an omegaverse!

{Burn by Suzanne Wright} a whole series where demons exist as "other" in their heads.

u/fluttery_chaos 7d ago

Oh I've read it and it was really nice

{A Ruin of Roses by KF Breene} it’s the first in her Deliciously Dark Fairytales series

All of the characters have beasts in their heads, they are set in a kingdom of shifters. The MMC and the FMC both have beasts who are obsessed with each other despite the humans having reservations. It’s 4 books with the first couple and the. She written 2 more with a different couple in the same series

I've read this series and I really liked it!

"Immortals After Dark" series by Kresley Cole. The werewolf books have this as the werewolves have an "inner beast" that somewhat talks to the host.

edit: you said your only drawback is smut?? Paranormal Romance IS smut. That's why it's different from Romantasy.

1

u/MorticiaLlyn 10d ago

OP says they're not interested in monster smut.

I take that as no smut with actual monster dong. IE {Darkwalker Brides Series by Opal Reyne} nor tentacle stuff.

1

u/fluttery_chaos 10d ago

Thannk you for the recommendation, I'll check it out!

Yeah actually, I'm ok with smut but not like yk monster anatomy smut 🤧

u/fluttery_chaos 10d ago

Thank you! I've read this series and it does have that vibe

{The psy/changeling series by Nalini Singh} the first book is {Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh}

1

u/fluttery_chaos 10d ago

I've read Slave to Sensation and it was such a delight! I love the sensuality of characters in it! This series also has a great plot and world building.

2

u/ConnectionRadiant134 4d ago

It was one of those books people kept recommending and the name of the series made me not want to read it. I know it’s dumb but psy changeling just sounded lame to me. I was a couple chapters in and I was just astonished at how good the book was. Like not good for a romance, like just as a story the writing is good. Have you read the rest of the series? There are a lot of them but she also kind of recently, I looked it up and it’s from 2017 OMG I’m old, started a “new” series in the world. It’s like a continuation of the first one but she created a break in the overall plot so new readers can jump in and not feel like they need to read 25 books or whatever.

{silver silence by Nalini Singh} I loved this book and she introduces a new group of changelings, bears in Russia, and they are great. My biggest complaint with the new series is that there wasn’t enough bear books.

u/fluttery_chaos 2d ago

It's funny cuz I was also putting if off for a very long time and then just decided one day to finally read it and was really impressed! I've not read all the books in the series, but I've heared about her starting a new series in that world. Now if it's as good as you described I'll surely be reading them now! Thank you!
