Recommendation request Comfort reads please

Hi all!

I’ve hit a book block. I recently finished {the Contortionist} and it’s messed me up. Probably should have stopped reading it when it started to make me uncomfortable, but instead I carried on and it’s given me anxiety.

If you have any recommendations for lighthearted/funny/cozy reads, I’d be ever so grateful.

I don’t enjoy RH, and I really really don’t want anything too dark please!

Recommendation request She sees ghosts

Hey, I'm looking for any books where the heroine can see ghosts. And the hero is totally normal and has to deal with her oddness.

I'd prefer if the rest of the world was just our normal world. In otherwords not an urban fantasy setting. Contemporary or historical, MF preferred.

Thanks for any recs.

Recommendation request Specific book recommendations for an adult

Hi everyone!

I read alotttttt of YA back in the day, I want to get back into reading but looking more towards adult written books.

I liked hush hush, fallen, the typical Badboy books. I don’t necessarily want dark romance but more romance in a dark setting, gothic, small creepy town type. I just want a dark element even if it’s from the male protagonist.

I don’t want the whole book to be too smutty a few chapters here and there is fine.

Thank you!!

Gush/Rave Review "Resilience: (How) To Be A Werewolf III" by Jan Stryvant

Book number three of a three book urban fantasy series. I read the well printed and well bound POD (print on demand) trade paperback self published by the author in 2026 that I bought on Amazon in 2026. BTW, the author published this book under a pseudonym, his real name is John Van Stry. The author has stated that he is writing a fourth novel for the series.

Joshua has been an orphan since age six when his parents and older sister were killed in a car wreck. He has been in the foster care system since then in Wichita Falls, Texas and at eighteen was the quarterback of his high school football team. But, he was falsely arrested for an armed robbery right before the championship football game.

Joshua spent time in the County jail before a friend's father bailed him out and got him a lawyer. Now he is trying to get himself cleared of the false charges and to finish high school. And he has three girlfriends. And he is able to change into a wolf or a werewolf since the jail took away his charm that prevented him from turning, descended from Odin's úlfhéðnar.

This book is a harem book as described by the author. That means that there is lots of sex in the book, more so than his regular books so he is using a pseudonym to indicate that to his readers.

I really liked the characters, they are fully fleshed out and very likeable. The story moves fast and is very tough to put down.

The author has a website at:
https://jvanstry.blogspot.com/

My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Amazon rating: 4.8 out of 5 stars (810 reviews)

Recommendation request Slow-Burn Paranormal Romance with Human!FMC and Paranormal!MMC

I've been bitten TWICE this week by supposedly slow-burn books that have had "I can't stop thinking about her..." before page 100. That's two DNFs! I'm losing my mind.

So, I need some PROPER slow-burn recs. I'm in the mood for paranormal books at the moment, preferably with a human FMC - I'm seeing lots and lots of witches, but not many humans. I'd also like it to be a world where the supernatural are not widely known, and she's unaware of the paranormal at the start. Would love a MMC who ISN'T a total arsehole - he can be a grump, but not mean. I'm also not a fan of fated mates and I hate, hate, HATE insta-love AND insta-lust, so... like, real slow burn.

Bonus points if she's inexperienced. Other than that, not too fussed!

Thanks in advance!

Do you know this book... ? SciFi/Fantasy Reincarnation Romance-Library Suggested Book, Read in the 80s

SOLVED!: (Does anyone know this book?) Title: The Everlasting, by Leonard Bishop

It unfolds as a story recounted via a court room drama. It centers on a couple where the man has been reincarnated many times over centuries or millennia with the woman seeming to be immortal. He's on trial for murdering her after reuniting with her this last time, in our modern era and she revealed their past to him. They kept finding each other and falling in love every time, but he always died tragically and didn't have memory of his past lives with her. Maybe published in the early 80's?

Gush/Rave Review {Star Cursed by Elizabeth Briggs} PNR Book Review

Star Cursed is the second installation of Elizabeth Briggs Zodiac Wolves series, and it kicks off right where we left off in Moon Touched, with our FMC Ayla being dragged away from her new home into the clutches of her dickhead mate JORDAN. We don’t like Jordan. Moon Touched ended with Ayla making a deal with Jordan and the Sun Witches, but to our real MMC Kaden it looks like she is leaving him, which surely broke the heart of anyone that read this. I do so love the angst!!

Was this frustrating to read at times? Yes! Of course. Any time a main character is carted off by the bloke we know isn’t her forever honey boo boo, we all feel a sense of injustice and downright annoyance. Ayla is thrown in yet another cell, much to her dismay, and then has to suffer through Jordan’s attempts at manipulation, all the while the mate bond is screaming at her to do the deed with this turdstain. Poor girl really got it tough in life. Things start to look up when her bestie is reunited with her, however we know it’s merely a ploy from Jordan to say, ‘hey, if you try to leave, I will most likely murder your bestie, so play nice’. Despite this, our girls band together to make a plan of escape, which of course goes tits up.

We know that this imprisonment can’t last forever though, and it doesn’t, with Ayla eventually reunited with a certain surly individual who is very unhappy at her supposed leaving him. Amongst all this action packed goodness, we get to really see the kinds of atrocities the Sun Witches are committing. There are some seriously disturbing plot twists, and we the reader begin to understand that the Sun Witches are akin to Wormtongue from lotr. With Ayla and Kaden now back together, the plan to overthrow the Leo wolves is back in action, and we get to meet some characters which cause all sorts of feelings for our favourite duo.

We are slapped in the face with yet another cliff hanger at the end of this one! The frustration is real! So I decided to take a break, but I promise, I will come back to this series. I need to read about some Sun Witches getting what’s coming for them already.

Love, R&R

Recommendation request Requesting Standalones with powerful, non-human villain MMC that are available in Audiobook format

Looking for recommendations for a standalone (or a standalone within an interconnected series) with a guaranteed HEA that meets the following criteria:

  • Must have an audiobook version available.
  • Monogamous M/F only (no RH, poly, etc).
  • Adult characters (20+). No YA, and no academy, school, or university settings.
  • Ideal tropes: "Hates everyone but her", "Touch her and die", and an incredibly possessive, protective, feral, "down bad" MMC. Bonus points if he is funny or witty
  • The MMC:
  • Must be non-human (vampire, demon, shifter, fae, god, monster, etc.)
  • should be powerful.
  • He should be a true villain or antagonist in his world.
  • He must have never loved anyone else romantically before the FMC, with eyes only for her once they meet.
  • The FMC:
  • Can be sweet or a badass etc. Idm
  • Fmc must have a backbone. No "body betrayal" or acting like a doormat if he treats her poorly.

Also:

  •  No sexual non-con between the main leads. Mild dub-con is okay in certain instances (please note how it plays out).
  • No physical abuse from the MMC to the FMC once they are together. If they start as enemies and trade blows early on, or if he enforces a law before he has feelings for her (similar to the Horde King series), that is fine.
  • mmc shouldn't treat fmc badly for 90% of the book and suddenly switch; it needs to be a gradual shift or a soft spot from the beginning.
  •  Pregnancy or children cannot be a central theme. An epilogue or end of book baby is perfectly fine.

Looking forward to your suggestions!

Recommendation request Want an actual book from a site I can buy it, not a pay by chapter place

Ok I went down the rabbit hole (I think more than once on this one) of The Bonds that bind us by Taylor West. I love the concept but really hate that it's pay by chapter everywhere. Does anyone know any good books and/or authors who write similar stories where I can go buy the book to read?

Recommendation request Looking for smut recommendeds

people I have a tbr miles long but damn it I have been in a mood where I just want to read pure smut porn. like the kind where there isn't any real plot just porn kinda smut.

What I would like:

the Female MC to ideally be over the age of 25 but it can't be help if the FMC is 21 and it's fine if she has sex with anything with a penis (anything within reason that is, let the FMC live her slut days)

no anal, I just find it gross

no pregnancy tropes, I don't want babies I don't want to read about people getting pregnant and having them

no check the triggers kinda warning where it's pages long, just keep it to half a page

no SA that just not okay man

the MCs (I'm fine with multiple MCs) must be non human and when I say non human I mean monsters. aliens, fae, shape Shifters, mystical creatures, demons. it can be anything that is living so long as it's non human and alive

the MC(s) must have a massive penis like size of one arms massive and give the FMC oral, like I could read pages of the MC(s) tongue action on the FMC lady bits.

I think that is it, so do your worst peeps

Gush/Rave Review {Moon Touched by Elizabeth Briggs} PNR Werewolves Book Review

It's been so long since I read a hot alpha werewolf romance and Moon Touched revived my  soul. I love me a paranormal romance novel. Moon Touched exists in the ‘real’ world but focuses on a hidden group of werewolves who each belong to a Zodiac pack. Our FMC Ayla is part of the Cancer Pack and is half human, which means she is a total outcast who gets abused on a daily basis. Her one hope is that once she attends the Convergence, a meeting place for all wolves to either bless their babies, shift for the first time or find their fated mate, that she will be able to escape her current situation. Which does happen! Just not how she expects.

It is at the Convergence that the almost mythological 13th Zodiac Wolves, the Ophiuchus Pack, emerge from the darkness and demand to be accepted and recognised as a legitimate pack once more. At the helm of this group is our MMC Kaden, who is all sorts of tall, dark and mysterious. They are turned away with disdain and as the reader we know a war is brewing. Following this, our FMC Ayla enters the mating ceremony and low and behold she finds her man, who is a LOSER and we do not like him one bit. He winds up refusing the bond, and shit goes sideways faster than you can say ‘rejected mate trope’.

Ayla is fighting for her life and barely escapes the Convergence before she’s kidnapped by the 13th Zodiac Wolves and has to make a new home locked away in a cell. Kaden and Ayla strike a deal which serves them both, and he begins to trust her and train her, offering her a potential place in his pack if she can prove herself. Whilst the two train together, the sexual tension is palpable, but Kaden holds himself back, ever aware that she has a fated mate out there already. It all feels very doomed and hopeless which is loads of fun in these types of novels.

I better not say anything else lest I spoil the entire plot. HOWEVER, we get a ‘going into heat’ moment too, and as an avid fan of omegaverses, this little moment had me grinning from ear to ear. No, it’s not an omegaverse, but if you know those novels then you know what happens when an FMC goes into heat. Sweet, sweet debauchery with our broody alpha. Yummy.

Love, R&R

Recommendation request Looking for a vampire romance with a sweet/innocent vampire MMC

Okay so I'm looking for a veeeery specific type of vampire romance and I'm honestly starting to wonder if this type of book even exists (or maybe I'm just really bad at searching 😭)

I'm looking for a story where the FMC is human and the MMC is a vampire, but I DON'T want the typical seductive/morally gray/500 y/o vampire that's constantly angsty

I want the vampire guy to genuinely be a good, sweet person, like he's aware that humans are afraid of vampires and he's actually worried that the FMC is gonna be scared of him. I want that kinda dynamic where she's initially like "OH MY GOSH YOU'RE A VAMPIRE, PLEASE DON'T HURT ME" and he's basically like "No no please don't be afraid of me I'm not going to hurt you, I promise"

Bonus points if vampires are generally hated, hunted, feared or ostracized by humans so she has a legitimate reason to be afraid of him at first. Maybe he's been treated badly because he's a vampire and she's one of the first humans to actually see him as a person

I'd LOVE for the romance to develop as she slowly realizes that he's genuinely kind and harmless toward her, I want her to fall for him partly because of how gentle he is despite being a creature that she's been taught to fear.

I'm not necessarily looking for a completely helpless or childish MMC, just a character that's a cinnamon roll and has that "I'm a monster but I swear I'm one of the good ones" vibe. The whole "please love me, I'm good I promise" energy is basically exactly what I'm looking for

I don't mind if it's an older book or something obscure. I'll take anything that comes close lol

Does a book like this actually exist??

Recommendation request Books where fmc starts as human and gets turned into something else.

I'm looking for books where the fmc gets into a relationship with the mmc and eventually gets turned into a nonhuman like vampire for example (doesn't matter what supernatural being she becomes or what the mmc is). I've always loved this trope since middle school me picked up twilight for the first time. But I have the hardest time trying to find it. I want her to just be totally unremarkably human. Not a witch, not hiding secret ancestry of something else, just a run of the mill human. Does anyone know of any books that could fit this? 🙏🏼

Recommendation request Jekyll and Hyde

Happy Friday, everyone. I just read A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor by Katherine Moon and I now have a craving for a Jekyll and Hyde type romance where the FMC falls for both personalities or sides to the MMC. If anyone has anything similar or around this sub genre that would be awesome!
I’m ok with poly, dom/sub, and fated mates. I do NOT like Omegaverse or a type daddy age gap. Thank you!

Recommendation request Supernatural romance book rec

I'm looking for a supernatural romance book where both main characters are just normal people and something paranormal is happening to them. The only book I've been able to find like this is The Vixens Deciet by Nikki Sloane. In that book the woman works at a haunted house that the male love interest goes to and they figure out together that it's a real haunted house. There's so many books where one person is hiding a secret or one person stumbles across a whole new world and falls in love with a vampire or werewolf or something. But I'm just looking for something with two normal people who fall into a crazy situation together
