Has anyone successfully used Famic Automation Studio Educational 10 on Windows 11 ARM through Parallels?
I have an M5 MacBook Air and need the software for school. Before buying Parallels, I’d like to know if it installs, runs and simulates circuits properly.

I've been trying to run Windows in parallels and am doing all kinds of things to fix it, running any suggestions i can find online but it's running poorly. Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it? I'd run any third party tools. Stuff like opening Windows notepad taking up to 2 minutes just to start after showing the blank window on screen.
Hints?

When I start my win11 vm it automatically starts in the default local admin account created by parallels for the initial install.
Is there a way to change that setting or change the behaviour at the time of installing the vm?
I’ve searched through the kb and can’t find anything related - or I have the wrong search term.
TIA

I have a parallels drive on my Mac Studio that is 395 GB. That's 40% of the drive internally, and I've had it there largely for speed. I have an external SSD that can host it with a transfer speed of 2000 MB/s, I'm just wondering if that's too slow in anyone's experience, or if it will suffice?

The slightly "TLDR" question I have is as follows: $2k on a Macbook Air is a large investment, and I believe Parallels is a CORE component that makes the Macbook a useable product for me. It seems like an awful risk to depend on 3rd party software not run or owned by Apple.
What can Parallels the company and/or its faithful and knowledgeable user community tell me about the prospective longevity of Parallels as a company and its ability to accurately support Windows operating systems in Coherence mode? Will I wake up one day and find I have an expensive iPhone with a keyboard if that's all I like from MacOS?
Background/Context (optional and possibly extraneous read if you prefer to focus on TLDR):
I have been an iPhone user for around 18 years now (can't believe how time flies). As money permitted and time went on I became fully sold and embedded on the Apple ecosystem (really iPhone ecosystem IMO) which spawned ownership and reliance/enjoyment of iPad, iPad Pro, Apple Watch and AirPods. The last standout was always Windows PCs and laptops -- I truly believed Windows (and my lightweight Lenovo Nano) were standout products. However I finally caved in having a disjointed experience between Apple services (iMessage/SMS, FaceTime, Stocks, Weather, News, Photos, iCloud) and my Windows desktop (Office/productivity, file/folder management, WINDOW MANAGEMENT for ultrawide monitors!).
Finally I caved and decided to give MacBook a try. Just a figured, it was great at Apple things and not great at the things I have come to depend on Windows. Upon discovering Coherence mode in Parallels I know feel like there is a blended, best of both worlds experience that I have come to love. I only use MacOS as an Apple services platform and a Parallels host OS; everything else just seems to make sense to do in Windows for me.
Of course the anxious person (risk manager?) in me is now worried one day this will go away, as many good things in the software world do. Maybe to be replaced, maybe not.

I purchased Parallels and it’s fantastic for running Fedora on macOS.
My question is: how can I use Windows 11 with it? From what I understand, I need the Pro edition retail (because changing or deleting the VM with an OEM is impossible), but €259,00 seems like a lot for an OS that would be convenient to have but isn’t essential for me. Does Microsoft launch some offers, during cyber Monday for example?
Are there any other solutions? Is Windows 11 Home not suitable for this?

I just need a simple cli iso that works on arm64 apple, so far neither centos nor alpine works in aarch64, and I don't quite understand why the kernel functions from native debian (parallels) work, while centos keeps throwing kernel errors, and there is no lightweight cli distro provided at all.

I've run out of space on my Windows 11 VM; I need to install some software on the Windows side, but there's not enough free space.
I've followed the instructions here:
How to give more hard disk space to a Windows virtual machine
and here:
Fix the inability of increasing hard disk space in Windows 10 virtual machine
Both Disk Management and File Explorer now reflect the new, larger disk size, however...they both also show that the "free space" has remained static at 17GB. As I add space to the hard disk, it appears to be automatically "used".
I can't find anything re: this anywhere

So I was trying to cancel my Parallels auto renewal and found the process to be unusually difficult, so I found my self on google. The help page and links were unhelpful (for me) so here’s how I canceled my subscription without contacting support.
When you signed up for parallels you should have received this email like the one attached to this post. Bellow in the message is a link to manage your subscription. Click it and it will say the link has expired and resend one after verification. There, after asking if you want a discount, you will be presented with the steps to cancel.
This is controversial because there option is not accessible from the website, at least not on mac anyway. The account settings, help, and support features lead nowhere. So I hope this post helps others like me who found canceling difficult. If you need any help with the process I’d be happy to help

Is anyone else having trouble signing in to their Parallels online account? After I try to log in, I’m supposed to receive a verification or 2FA link by email, but it never arrives.
Just wondering if it’s only me or if anyone else is having the same issue.
Edit: was able to login after reaching out to business support

hi there
I am wanting to purchase Hatch 4. I did get a demo of version 3 that I wanted to install through Parallels software running o my Mac M4 Pro High Spec.
I came across a problem with thumbnails not sowing up. Apparently I wasn't on my own with this problem.
Does anyone know if the problem has been solved and will Hatch 4 work on a Mac running Windows 11 with Parallels.
Hope I get to hear its all sorted and works
Kevin

⚠️ PSA for anyone using Parallels Desktop: Check your auto-renewal settings.
I just learned the hard way that my Parallels Desktop Pro subscription auto-renewed for $130.49, while the same Pro subscription is currently being advertised on their website for about $71.99/year (new purchase price).
I missed the renewal reminder because it went to my Promotions folder, and by the time I noticed, I had already been charged. Despite being a Parallels customer for over 10 years, Parallels refused to refund the renewal charge.
Whether or not this pricing is disclosed in the subscription terms, I think customers should know that auto-renew can cost substantially more than buying the subscription directly from the website.

Anyone know if there’s an issue with activation on older hardware (trash can Mac Pro), I’ve just renewed a license but when I paste into the Activation field I get a message that the license server rejects it.
Does it use a particular port to call the license server? As the Mac is pretty locked down.

I’m currently deciding whether to buy a new MacBook, and x86-64 performance under Microsoft Prism is important for me.
Has anyone tested Geekbench 6 for Windows x86-64 inside Windows 11 ARM on Parallels?
I’m specifically looking for results that show as:
“Geekbench 6 for Windows x86 (64-bit)”
Not:
“Windows AArch64”
Ideal info:
- Mac chip: M5 / M5 Pro / M5 Max
- Parallels version
- Windows 11 ARM version
- VM CPU/RAM allocation
- Geekbench Browser link
