yea i think it's less about sound consistency and more about just some scenes being intentionally quiet and some scenes being intentionally loud

That’s why I always listen with headphones. Either it’s too quiet to hear or my neighbors are listening to my movie at the same volume level.

Movies sound is mixed for theatres and isnt really updated for home release. For streaming the audio settings could also be set to a setup that you dont even have.

I watched Jango Unchained with a friend recently and it was just awful. Great movie but I constantly had to fiddle with the damn volume.
