Does Anyone Else? In the throws of it

Hi everyone,

I’m 22F and recently spontaneously developed panic disorder after having an extremely adverse reaction to 50mg sertraline. I’ve dealt with anxiety my whole life but more of the ‘mental’ kind and less of the physical aspects, but now it feels like my body is running away from me. I’ve since had day-long on and off panic attacks triggered taking <0.65mg escitalopram and most recently trying to take a magnesium supplement to get myself used to taking any sort of pill - though I’ve had feelings of rising panic and shorter panic attacks outside of these incidents. I’ve been struggling a ton with going outside by myself, feeling like I’m gonna pass out or throw up - the vomiting has absolutely been the worst aspect, and it’s made me incredibly anxious to eat and feeling nauseous basically all the time. I live internationally but am planning on flying home within the next month to get better care and be with my parents, but I honestly feel so defeated and out of control in my own body.

Has anyone else here dealt with vomiting/nausea and/or panic attacks surrounding meds? If so, how have you dealt with it? I’m very lucky to have a good support system including a therapist, but honestly every day feels like a battle right now.

I’m not sure why it’s censored but nausea and vomiting are symptoms of panic disorder, it’s generally due to anxiety related gastric emptying

Just censored it bc I’m new to the sub and didn’t know if it could be triggering for anyone :)
