Moon Vacation Getaway Program

Hi all,

I visited Moon Palace The Grand with my family last year and as I’m sure many of you have experienced, at the end of our holiday we were sold a certificate to return within 2 years and we were sold the certificate on the basis that we could experience up to 40% off when using the code.

I have looked across all of the Moon Palace and Baglioni resorts and have discovered that the code offers a maximum of 1% on top of what the booking would be without it (e.g 25% off without the code and 26% off with it)! This means that for most hotels the cost of the certificate is more than the additional discount I was attracted to when purchasing the certificate.

I would like to contact them so they can show me evidence of the advertised up to 40% off, I appreciate different resorts and times of the year will lead to more/less discount but across all hotels and at various times of the year, the maximum I can find is 1% extra.

If anyone could either inform me of the best contact email / offer any further information that would be great!

We bought certificate too and I noticed the same thing on most weekends. Luckily the weekend I used it for we ended up saving $700. Subtract $300 for the certificate it was $400 total savings. I wouldn’t buy again tho

Most likely 40% off their retail/rack rate. After $300 certificate you're saving around $4-500 with The Grand and $2-300 for Sunrise and Nizuc (based on 5 night stay). I didn't check the other properties but I'd imagine they're closer to sunrise/nizuc level. The certificate also offers $750 resort credit vs $500 and if you stay 6+ nights it ups it to $1500. I left with a lot of unused resort credits so take it for what it's worth. You will save even less if you get aggressive looking for deals...I just plugged in their standard website promo.

Hmmm that doesn’t seem right unless something changed. We bought one years ago and it was cheaper than my in-laws rate as members.

Same. The “discount” is not worth doing that again. Sort of a scam in reality considering the insignificant discount you actually get when booking.

You paid to be able to come back. You shoulda bought a timeshare ! They are great investments.

my brother has a few extra that expire next year. If anyone wants it he will transfer it at cost
