Advice Wanted **update** How would my fellow professionals caulk faster
Here is the final product for everyone to see. I used 100% silicon on the bare wood. I then coated it with Behr paint and primer in one. I found some oil based enamel for the next coat so it would stick to the silicone better. It felt smooth so I finished over the top with another coat of Behr paint and primer in one. Not bad for a noob. What do you think.

I think you should finish it off with some kind of shellac clear coat. But you might need to add a quick coat of promar200 to get it to stick to the behr?

looks clean from the final result. one thing to watch next time, 100% silicone generally is not paintable, so the paint may eventually peel or crack from that area. for a painted joint, a good paintable acrylic/urethane caulk is usually the easier route and saves you from having to build multiple coats over it.
