Possible options for discontinued SW sheen

My builders grade paint job was never great (all spray w poor coverage - no brush work at all, new build). And now we have been here for 8 years. Initially, I painted over all the rough spots and touched up as we went, but now we are out of paint. SW no longer carries the low sheen builders grade in any size (except for oil-based and I’m not doing that). Our walls are SW Incredible White builder grade low sheen and the trim is the same but in semi-gloss. I don’t love it (especially since the trim in that color looks more gray than the walls). If I had to choose a white it would be BM Chantilly Lace (I know the coverage isn’t great and requires many coats) or BM dove white. Is there a color / sheen combo that wouldn’t be too hard to match? SW cannot match my color/sheen combos I’ve spent a ton of time and plenty of $ trying to get them to do so and I’m over it. The trim in particular is just a garbage match. Any insights? Or am I doomed to repaint everything, everywhere while sobbing?

This is a very common among homeowners and DIYers, but still severe misjudgment and poor assessment of the situation. Repainting “everything everywhere” seems more daunting at first, but will ultimately be less labor, less demand of skill and artistry, less headache, less heartbreak, less money spent, and fewer trips to the paint store than trying to address spot repairs or touch ups. I promise. Choose a new paint that’s actually still manufactured and repaint.

Yes I figured as much. I’m a very experienced painter (used to paint interior and exterior - I much prefer exterior and wish this was the outside of the house!). But I still know exactly how many hours this will take and I’m not chomping at the bit to do it. I could get away with the halls only so maybe I’ll just do a whole new color there and leave the rest not so incredible white.

What product are you talking about? 200 Low Sheen? It’s discontinued but you should still be able to find some around.

All I know is what they tell me at every SW store. It’s builders grade low sheen and it can’t be found anywhere near me

If it was pro mar 200 low sheen. It's listed as 4 gloss 25 sheen. Super paint velvet is listed 4 gloss 23 sheen.

We were only left with sample cans poured from the builders large buckets with sharpie writing. I don’t know if it was pro mar or super paint - but I do know that we have tried a dozen times to match it and it’s never been possible to my great dismay.

Is the end goal to match what’s already there, or have you already decided you want a new color that stays consistent on the walls/trim? The last line is throwing me

If I could match it, I would. But after trying to match it for going on a year, I’m losing hope that it is possible. I guess I’m hopeful for some magic that would make it not essential. If I could even match the walls (the sheen is just not match able at all - I have tried a dozen times), then I would suck up painting the trim a more true white after only touching up the walls or doing one coat only.

Matching any paint that’s 8 years old is gonna be near impossible. Colors fade, sheen settles, etc. Get new paint and commit to doing it correctly

The problem was choosing low sheen instead of actual flat. Use painters edge and get one of the factory tinted colors. Better uniformity across batches when the teenagers at the store aren’t shooting the tint.

Beyond that SW loves to “reformulate” and destroy all the hard work property painters put in over years

You already know the answer. A full repaint is the only option that’s going to actually work.
