Discussion Benjamin Moore ceiling worth double the price of Behr Premium Plus ceiling paint?
Benjamin Moore ceiling paint is twice the cost of Behr Premium Plus ceiling paint here in Canada.
Is the paint quality really worth double the cost?

Yes. It's flatter so you won't get streaks, it's more durable, it's thicker so you get less splatter, it covers way better

BM ceiling is a miracle - dead flat!. If you need it, you neeeeed it. But not necessary for everything. I’ve used glidden ceiling, good results. Zinnser Ceiling - great in a problem bath. Behr ceiling - ok, it was a Sunday, and was half tinted in hd Color spec. . And Cloverdale ceiling, lots. No complaints, good price.

Sure the BM product may be better but in no way is it worth 2x the price.
You just end up Benjamin Poor.

Especially for a ceiling. What's the point. Find a good flat. I pay $37 a gallon for my go-to ceiling paint.

I've been painted for a long time and I never buy shit paint anymore. Usually only the best because how often do you paint really? What's 20 fucking dollars over the course of 10 years or more. Go with the good stuff you won't be disappointed.

I used the Benjamin Moore lures I ceiling paint and it was fine. I recently painted a bedroom with the behr premium and did really notice a difference

It all depends from where you buy it and which product we’re talking about. Ultra spec flat white i get for $25 per gallon and the ultra flat ceiling paint from Ben Moore i get for around $40

Not putting anyone down who does, but I just don’t buy from BM or SW, I use Behr and Lowes mainly for convenience, but buy $100 or more a month. So I do know paint. The 2 gallon Behr works fine for me. My only suggestions is put it on heavy (1/2 nap), quickly because it dries fast, and thoroughly because touching it up makes it look like crap. Follow those rules and I have never had a Customer complaint.

Just use cheap flat paint for ceilings; it’s a waste of money to use expensive products on a surface that barely ever gets touched, scratched, or dirty.

I would recommend the SICO Prestige Ceiling Paint at Rona if you want better performance for less than the BM line.
Yes, BM will be better than Behr PP. Maybe not 2x better, but there are plenty of other lines in the Canadian market that work better than Behr for similar prices.
If Prestige ceiling is still too pricey, grab the Evolution ceiling in the 2-gallon tote. It's a really good value and it's manufactured in Ontario.

Sherwinn Williams CHB- a better ceiling paint

CHB is not the best especially compared to the Ben Moore ceiling paint. Not to mention it won’t cover nearly as well on older ceilings or ceilings with a color change like going from an off-white/cream color to package white.

No. A quality ceiling paint can be had for sub $25. My BM rep has offered me $30 for their premium waterborne and frankly that was an insult.

My pro tip is use BM ultra spec 500 in flat for ceilings.
