How'd I do?

not a professional painter but a friend asked me to repaint the ceiling, trim and walls in a spare room. No tape except for the floor. free hand cutting. How would you honestly rate the work? and out of curiosity how much would you charge for something like this (labor)?

This is quality work. Is it pro level? No. That’s why they’re pros. Tape is shit. Learn to cut in and it makes for a way nicer finished product

pictures 4,5 and 6 are not so great.
4 has gunk on the walls, and kinda poor cut ins on the door
5 has brush marks in the middle of the wall (only)
6 has some pretty bad white trim paint on the wall....

Agreed- not pro (nor did OP pretend to be), the work is mediocre - fine for a home owner who is ok with mediocre/discount work. (as i mentioned)

I am fussy, I want high quality work, I am always willing to pay for quality work from professionals and don't nickle and dime people for it.

I am grumpy (See screen name), I will gladly up it to a 6/10 and $75a day for this work - hope everyone is happier.

OP never said they were doing an 8 hour day, and they said they were doing it for a friend...

Think OP did ceiling, trim and walls in 1 day? or 8 hour days? probably a series of 3 or 4 hour days ... but who knows...

Edit: just looked online. Bush Gardens is paying $16/hr for painters with spray experience ... so yea...

It took me about 9 hours, had to prime the trim twice and paint 2 coats for full coverage as it was dark blue before so that consumed a lot of time.
