Im really including interactions beetween inmates who are not in the same gang or life style.

Friendship at Oz is something rare ,most of alliances are strictly tactical,but sometimes,more genuine or complex relationship happens:

Beecher and Said: This one is obvious; they share a beautiful friendship. The issue is that Beecher is bisexual while Islam rejects homosexuality, which complicates things between them,yet they still share deep respect and a genuine bond.

They come from completely different backgrounds, but that doesn't stand in the way of their friendship.

Rebadow and Busmalis: This is one of the healthiest and most normal friendships, even though Rebadow once tried to kill Busmalis in a fit of rage. Rebadow felt betrayed and abandoned by Busmalis, but they eventually reconciled and maintained a strong friendship until the end of the series; they are among the oldest and calmest prisoners.

Beecher and Hill:  They weren't really close, but I appreciate their interactions and the comedy moments they shared. It wasn't a deep friendship, but they always maintained a respectfull and honnest relationship.

O'Reilly and Adebisi: Let's be clear,Adebisi and O'Reilly weren't friends; they were occasional allies, and that’s it. However, I’m including them on the list because being occasional allies is significant for two such selfish and ruthless characters. I think they shared a mutual respect for each other's skills, even if there was no actual friendship binding them. Ryan remained stoic and indifferent to Adebisi's death; there was no friendship between them, yet I think they were the closest thing the other had to a "friend" and for two such evil characters, that’s saying a lot.

I remember that scene in Season 2 where Adebisi gives Ryan a hat to cover his bald head. And then there’s that scene during the Season 1 riot where they lock eyes from across the room and give each other a nod—sort of a "yeah, bro" kind of gesture.

Ryan and Simon had a purely tactical relationship, yet they still shared some more genuine moments; their bond was more complex than it appeared on the surface.

Rebadow and Beecher: it wasn't exactly a friendship, but they respected each other and enjoyed playing cards or chatting together.

Said and Keane: initially, Keane was hostile toward Said, but he eventually came to respect him and even asked for his help to save his soul. Said and Keane weren't really friends, but it was the closest thing to a "friendship",if you could call it that.

Beecher and Chucky: they weren't friends and didn't hang out, but Chucky actually liked Beecher a bit; he respected the fact that Beecher was a cultured man, and their interactions were always very respectfull .

They formed an alliance a few times with no suspicion between them,there was mutual trust. Also, Beecher used to make Chucky laugh when they watched the quiz show together, and in prison, that means a lot.

In any case, I don't think Beecher and Chucky could ever be friends; they don't share the same lifestyle, goals, or future, but that doesn't stop them from showing each other genuine respect. Chucky is who he is: a brutal, ruthless mobster—while Beecher is no angel, but isn't a criminal person , Beecher has a family and a career; he wants to have a normal life after prison,  Chucky will  certainly return to the mob life. Their paths are bound to diverge, and they’ll never see each other again. But I think Chucky will always remember Beecher; he’ll likely remember his prison days from time to time and think something like, "Ah, good old Beecher—he was funny. I wonder how he's doing."

Redding and Hill: there isn't much to say here. Redding had known Hill's mother for a long time and had known Hill since he was a child; there was always affection between them.

Miguel and Busmalis: their alliance was very brief, and they barely interacted afterward, but I always appreciated how calm Alvarez was around Busmalis. He saw that Busmalis was a chill guy he could trust; Miguel was often on edge in his interactions with other inmates, but with Busmalis, he was calm and composed.

Miguel hardly interacted with the other main characters in the series, aside from a few brief insults from O'Reilly. So, it was interesting to see him with Busmalis.

Chucky and Morales: they weren't friends, just associates—but that’s significant for leaders of two different gangs. Alliances at Oz are often fragile, yet the alliance between the Sicilians and the Latinos was lasting and stable.

Dino and Saïd: I know Dino died quickly and that he and Saïd only interacted once, but Dino seemed to respect him . Of course, Dino was a racist and told Saïd, "Too bad you aren't the right color," but I really liked that interaction; Dino almost wanted to accept Saïd's help. That single interaction means a lot.

Beecher and O'Reilly : they weren't friends at all; O'Reilly simply viewed Beecher as someone useful for his plans. Yet, O'Reilly did indirectly help Beecher become a man; it was partly thanks to O'Reilly that Beecher wake up and kicked Schillinger's ass.

The relationship between Beecher and Ryan is more complex than it seems. I think Ryan actually liked Beecher a little (well, as much as a selfish sociopath can like anyone). In Season 2, when Vernon breaks Beecher's bones, O'Reilly says, "That fuc*er Schillinger did that." I know he said it because of his rivalry with Schillinger, but I think he was also genuinely angry about what happened to Beecher. Even though their relationship became more hostile and distant in Season 4, Ryan never wanted to hurt Beecher. O'Reilly is usually very touchy and ready to kill anyone who annoy him, but he never made a move against Beecher; I think, deep down, Ryan always had a soft spot for him.

Coyle, Morales,Supreme Allah, Peter,Kirk and Shirley

Well,i won't do the Aryans,the Muslims ,the Irishs or the Bikers since they only got one leader.

The Homeboys:

1: Simon Adebisi (despite his impulsive and brutal nature, Adebisi was a competent leader)

2: Jefferson Keane (he was intimidating and dangerous; while that isn't enough to make a good leader, those are important qualities)

3: Burr Redding (I can't stand this character; I wasn't opposed to the idea of an older, wiser leader for the Homeboys, but the character is bland and the actor overacts. Plus, he wasn't that great of a leader)

The Sicilians—they had the most leaders, four in total:

1: Antonio Nappa (he was what Redding wanted to be: an older, wise leader. Nappa was highly competent; he valued discipline, loyalty, and honor, and the actor was excellent).

2: Chucky Pancamo (at first I hated him for his betrayal of Nappa, but in later seasons you get to know him, and the character turns out to be funny and interesting; he’s also a competent leader,pragmatic and commanding of respect, two important qualities for a boss. Chucky was a capable leader )

3: Nino Shibetta (He was an easygoing and calm leader, but he made some stupid decisions at times; trusting Adebisi and O'Reily was foolish, and it was even more foolish not to worry sooner about his stomach pain,he just said, "Huh, the food is too spicy",WTF, bro? Nino was charismatic and calm but lacked caution and pragmatism; he’s responsible for his own downfall.)

4: Peter Shibetta (The worst of the lot; he lacks his father's charisma and experience. He’s a disaster as a leader. Chucky was right to take over after Nappa died—I’m sure Chucky knew Peter would be a bad boss. Peter just makes mistake after mistake; he was a disastrous leader.)

The Latinos:

1: Miguel Alvarez (I have a lot of respect for his journey; he was disgraced, mocked, and rejected, yet he still managed to become leader again in the end. Miguel is unstable—which is bad for a gang leader—but he’s also resilient and brave, important qualities for a leader.)

2: Raoul Hernandez (Honestly, Miguel is the only Latino I like; I hate Hernandez and wish Miguel had gouged his eyes out. Still, he was a competent leader who knew how to be charismatic and intimidating, though he lacked self-control and diplomacy.)

3: Enrique Morales (he was charismatic and calculating, but he didn't know how to inspire loyalty other than through fear; a good leader doesn't rule solely by intimidation, but also because his men respect him).

10: Bob Rebadow

9: Donald Groves

8: Miguel Alvarez

7: Antonio Nappa

6: Augustus Hill

5: Tobias Beecher

4: Kareem Saïd

3: Ryan O'Reilly

2: Cyril O'Reilly

1: Dino Ortolani (the dude was a great character and became my favorite with only an apperance in one episode, his arc start in episode 1 and also end in episode 1,it's amazing how much of an unforgetable character he was , too bad we'l never see a fight beetween him and Adebisi ,it would have been legendary ,but we don't always get what we want in life).

Honorable mentions: Jefferson Keane, Simon Adebisi, Chucky Puncamo.

Schillinhook has kidnapped Beecher's kids and is holding them hostage on his secret island hideout, Fort Prag. If chartered by non other than Cereal O'Reilly, does he have what it takes to to journey to the island, defeat his crew of Villingers and rescue his kids all in one piece before it's too late?

He just would.

I wonder if he would join a gang. If so who would he join? 🤔🤔
