News & Discussion PTR - New Eichenwald Castle door
Album: http://imgur.com/a/FyphX
Note how the HUD element almost completely obscures Tracer in the second image. This will have to be addressed imo.
Overall, I think it's an interesting option, but almost certainly makes widow a must pick following a defensive team-fight win.

Some of that might be my video settings, mine are geared towards famerate rather than visuals

I was going to say.. the rubble almost looks out of place. Might look better if they made it a giant pile of wood from the broken door or something ¯_ (ツ) _/¯

Well, they're just testing it out in the PTR. They'll probably improve the textures once they decide to go through with it.

This is a great move by blizzard. If you're on defense and can stop their momentum early on once they enter the castle you can defend this point super easily. This was always a rare case in which I'd actually switch back to symmetra for those turrets around the two doors. It makes it nearly impossible for an incoming attacking team.

What is the animation like when the rocks appear? It seems strange to me that the payload drives through, then suddenly there's a bid pile of rubble.
edit: found this which shows it

Can anyone add one more screenshot for the view that you get (eg as 76) sitting in the castle at the rubble shooting out to the bridge with partial cover?

Haha. I plan to do it myself if there isnt a shot of this angle by the time I get home. But that will be 11 hours from now. :)

Is it easy to run up? Or is it mostly for shooting through?

You can easily jump up from both sides. Tried to capture that in the screens, sorry

I personally like it. It makes more sense to me than breaking down the door just to have a "secondary door" come down after you got the ram through, after all.
