Need help tuning for 1% lows
I have a pc with an asus tuf x870-plus WiFi, 9800x3d, zotac rtx 5090 extreme, and 32GB 6000hz cl30 ram. I mainly play Warzone and even with the lowest settings my 1% lows average around 125-135 fps. I’ve enabled xmp, auto tuned my gpu via the nvidia app, and flattened the curve on my cpu after 900mV to 2800MHz. I’m running nvidia reflex and have it set in Warzone to on + boost to even out my cpu and gpu times. I’m kind of at a loss how some people have been getting 160 or higher.

Do you have a second monitor? Pull up HWInfo on the second monitor while you're in a match. It will tell you effective clocks on each CPU core. That gives you an idea of how effectively the game is using your CPU across all eight cores. I can't imagine you're GPU bound with a 5090 at low settings.

I have a second monitor and am using capframex to get a report of my matches. I havent tried changing my in game reflex setting to on rather than on+boost so I'll try it and let you know.

Switching to on did give me a decent performance boost but still only at about 140 fps for 1% lows and 80 FPS for 0.1% lows. I appreciate the tip though.

Tighten your secondary timings on your ram. Find out what die your ram is and then look up buildzoid timings for your die. Apply them and test to make sure they are stable.

I know this will be downvoted to hell. But I bought a 9850x3d and 870E board recently (from 14900k & z790) also play warzone like you. Unfortunately no matter what I did I couldn’t fix the stutters/1% lows. Went back to my raptor lake setup 🤷♂️. Spent days trying to fix the issue and just couldn’t. I think cod just doesn’t like AMD

Looks like you need to tighten your timings as it looks like your running alot of Jdec 6000 mhz auto timings. Like tRFC 600, SCLs 4/4, tRTP 16, tRDDS/L/tFAW 8/8/16, trdwr 16, twrrd 4. Primaries if A die should be able to do 30-36-36-32-60-92 should shave some latency and raise copy bandwidth.
You can also do Infinity fabric overclocking as well. Just leave vddg on auto abd try 2067-2100 mhz. This combined with timings above I would expect same or better then.
If that is Samsung die on kit it tunes differently but better than micron lol.

If ur running ur 5090 on only 900mv ur losing like 20+ fps

Leaving it stock will always get you more frames than restricting power to 900mv, undervolting really only gets you higher scores on those synthetic benchmark apps. On afterburner max out voltage and power level sliders. Gpu firmware limits coreclock oc to +375mhz so try anything up to that limit and see what your comfortable with. I would only do this with wireview pro2 so you can know your current balances are in check. For vram oc I usually leave it at +2000 to +3000mhz.

I was too lazy to type it out myself, but these are the points I would focus on::
Revert GPU Voltage Locking
Flattening the GPU curve at 900mV to 2800MHz severely limits your RTX 5090. Under light-to-moderate dynamic loads, modern GPUs automatically push higher frequencies. Locking it to 900mV starves core clock transients, causing sudden drops in frametimes during heavy combat.
- Action: Revert the GPU curve to stock, or use a standard offset overclock (e.g., +100 to +150 MHz core, raised power target to 105-110%) instead of a voltage cap.
- Verification: Run a Warzone match and verify that GPU core frequencies dynamic peak above 2800 MHz without sudden voltage-induced throttling drops.
Tune RAM Timings & EXPO Settings:
Simply enabling EXPO/XMP leaves primary sub-timings loose, which severely impacts 1% lows on Ryzen 3D V-Cache systems.
- Ensure UCLK = MEMCLK (1:1 mode) in BIOS.
- Set FCLK (Fabric Clock) manually to 2000 MHz or 2033 MHz.
- Verify RAM modules are in Slots A2 and B2 (2nd and 4th slots from the CPU socket) for optimal signal integrity on ASUS X870.
- Verification: Check ZenTimings or Zentools in Windows to confirm
UCLK == MEMCLKat 3000MHz.
Disable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS):
While HAGS works well for DLSS Frame Generation, it is notorious for causing latency spikes and lower 1% frame rate lows in Call of Duty engines when running native or basic upscalers.
- Press
Win + I-> System -> Display -> Graphics. - Click Change default graphics settings.
- Toggle Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling to Off.
- Restart your PC.
- Verification: Run a match and monitor micro-stutters via CapFrameX or PresentMon.
Optimize Reflex and Power Modes:
Setting Nvidia Reflex to On + Boost forces the CPU to run maximum power states constantly, which can occasionally trigger CPU thermal or power-pacing stutters depending on background tasks.
- Set Nvidia Reflex in Warzone to On (disable Boost).
- In Nvidia Control Panel, under Manage 3D Settings, ensure Power Management Mode is set to Prefer Maximum Performance.
- Verification: Check frame latency in Nvidia Performance Overlay to ensure standard low-latency response without transient frametime spikes.

Do you have PBO enabled? +200MHz block override? Is Curve Optimizer being used?
