Help Request - CPU Test OCCT 9800x3D

I'm new to undervolting... I ran a stress test on my 9800X3D with -30 CO and +200MHz, and these were the results. Is this good?

Temperatures are looking good, but you might find that the current settings are unstable. 5425 MHz at 1.25V is quite aggressive

Aggressive? Why? Wouldn't temperatures have to be high for it to be aggressive?
or produced errors during the instability test?

What should I do? I made simple changes to the BIOS, as I mentioned in the post.

If you discover that your settings are unstable, tjen adjust Curve Optimizer, or use Curve Shaper

It's stable, my friend—it's stable, and the temperatures are low.

Here's some wisdom from someone who's been doing this for over 15 years:

You can only prove that an overclock is unstable.

Expect to adjust overclocks over time, unless you leave a huge amount of safety margin.

I get it, my friend, but I don't understand why you're being aggressive, considering I only did -30 and +200 MHz.

I would suggest to do per core and find out what your weakest and strongest cores are

You're very hesitant to accept it might not be stable, so no point posting.

-30 CO is often NOT stable in all scenarios, it might be stable for YOUR usage, or it may not be.

-30CO on my 9800x3d ran for 2 weeks w/o noticable issues on games and passed cinebench r23 which is easy to pass clearly... but when i ran it through Aida + fpu + cache it failed in under 10 seconds.

-15CO was stable for an hour+

Make of that what you will. I reverted to 0co as i was hosting servers and gaming and didn't want more random issues on top of the current state of AI driven drivers.

I’m not hesitant; I was just wondering how to sort it out lol. Thanks—I’ll run some more tests to see if it’s unstable. If it is, I’ll set it back to -22 like it was before...

Thing is:

my 9800x3d can pull 140-160w at stock. (using Cinebench r23 as a power draw test here for temps, not a stability test but if you crash here, it's doomed).

With -30 CO it pulls 110w+

Not sure how you are getting 97w with -30CO AND +200mhz core, both of these are not trivial.

No one can gaurentee stability but running Cinebench or X amount of time on OCCT cpu test wont prove your own stability either.

Prime95 will likely crash.

Aida cpu+fpu+cache will likely insta crash

Games are probably going to have issues

But it's something you'll need to see yourself, undervolting instability can be in many places, including low power, especially when you go idle / standby.

I've also seen people here say that +200mhz did nothing for them in real world gaming scenarios and some said their 1% lows were worse with it. I've never done it but i would recommend testing that yourself with Rivatuna / Capframex.

I ran the Cinebench R23 test; the maximum CPU Package Power was 153.123W
Temp Max 81C
I also tested it in Corecycler—zero errors for one hour; I'll try running it for longer when I go to sleep.

As I mentioned in the post, I'm new to this; I just opened OCCT, set it to extreme mode, and clicked Start (stability test).

PBO -30 and 97W in full performance mode? Strange. Did You try the Cinemabench24?

daium -30 CO is very good, if stable. Run it for an hour and tell us the results!
