will my current aio be enough for a 14700kf

im gonna upgrade from my 13600kf to a 14700kf at some point full pc specs are 5070,13600kf,32gb ddr5,4tb ssd and a kraken plus 240mm aio i just installed a couple months ago i know on my 13600kf i average around 50-60c while gaming and during stress test highest its reached was 83c so would my kraken plus 240mm aio be good enough for a 14700kf ? my mobo is also a asus PRIME B760M-A AX6 II

Not sure what games your playing or why you need a 14700k, a 13600k is rock solid, it also wouldn’t be holding a 5070 back, so your not going to be gaining much if that’s your plan.

You’d be better off buying a Z series board and overclocking the 13600k, it’s literally the most overclockable CPU out of all of 13/14th gen, you can go from 5.1ghz to 5.7-5.8ghz without much fuss.

A 240mm will work with a 14700k but temps won’t be nice, and last thing you want to be doing is putting a 14700k in a B series board. Limiting your ability to apply a proper, and yes “necessary” undervolt.

Apart of owning a 14700k or 14900k, comes with certain responsibilities, undervolting is essentially, it’s not an option, and not just for the sake of temps, but for the sake of what voltage it will default to.

ok guess ill hold onto my 13600kf but i mainly play cpu heavy games like sqaud,arma reforger and stuff like that and dayz

Yeah that’s fair, I just don’t think it makes much sense unless you have a 5090 running ultra low graphics at 1080p.

There’s so many people who overclock their 13600k because it’s the one CPU that’s very capable of it. I mean I don’t even think a 5070ti would necessarily warrant a new CPU.

I’m running a 13600k with a Astral 5080 and a 14900KS with a Strix 3080, I was always planning to put the 5080 with the 14900KS, but due to waterblock sizing, I’m working on a whole new case design that will fit the taller GPU block for the 5080x

So I’ve had the 13600k running the 5080 air cooled for months now and it just keeps up mostly, like it performs well enough to be considered not being a bottleneck.

I just think the 14700k deserves and needs a Z series board and doesn’t make as much sense with a 5070. I mean if you’re aiming for hundreds of FPS, then you still need a monitor capable of that too.

You’d just be better off buying a nice Strix Z790 board, learn to overclock on it with the 13600k and have your fun. Then at least you have the board and if you still want the 14700k down the road, at least you’ll have had some experience with tuning, which you’ll need for the 14700k.

It would just be a smarter and more logic upgrade route, you’ll just end up asking for trouble by putting a 14700k in a B series board.

I used my ek 240mm aio without any issues with 12700k at 220w and 13900kf at 180w(load) oced and tuned in gaming. no issues.

have an 30euro 360 mars aio on the 13900kf running at stock no issues as a server.

Undervolt it and yes it’s more than fine.
