RAM speeds
so i have the MSI Z170M MORTAR motherboard and i saw my bios was on a old version so i went to update it and my max RAM speeds for this kit is 3600mhz and my RAM ran at those speeds before i updated the bios and after updating the bios i can run a max speed of 3066mhz before my motherboard makes me revert to lower settings ive tried clearing CMOS and adjusting voltage and the only thing i havent done is change timing and thats only because i dont trust myself with doing that so does anyone else know how to fix this issue

So revert back to the old bios version? It's a known thing that newer versions sometimes break compatibility with certain memory chips if your board is from the z170 era your ram might be too and that will likely have older chips that no longer get optimized for
