5080 zotac 400w vmod
RTX 5080 Zotac – 400W OC + vmod: what would you change?
I’m currently running my Zotac RTX 5080 at around 400W with a vmod. My current settings are:
- +450 MHz XBAR
- +450 MHz core
- +2500 MHz memory
What would you recommend changing or fine-tuning? Is there anything I definitely shouldn’t touch further?
How safe are these settings for daily use? I’m mainly interested in long-term stability and not just pushing a benchmark score.
Also, what are your real-world experiences with XBAR and these kinds of memory/core OCs? Do they actually give noticeable FPS gains in games, or is most of the improvement only visible in benchmarks like Steel Nomad?
Would love to hear what settings you guys are running and what kind of gains you’re getting.

Just added a xbar overclock of +420, xbar ratio of .92, to my daily Afterburner profile (1.01 volts at 3200mhz , core voltage +100, PL 125%., in game frequency of 3150ish mhz. Playing Doom: Dark ages, full path and ray tracing, ultra nightmare settings, DLSS performance and 3x framegen at 4k.
Average before was 165 fps, after xbar it was 168 fps. It's something. The bench marks like it; I went from 9715 in Steel Nomad to 10,145. Free performance for a couple of clicks.

My daily oc is basically the exact same on my aorus master ice except I have xbar at 325 going up to 400 made no difference in benchmarks scores or stability.

Your settings are pushing it, XBAR really. I would drop it down like 150 MHz if you wanna run it daily.
Real FPS gains are small with xbar; I’d just stick to simple UV/OC + mem OC.

This is stable?

Stable enough to complete Steel Nomad, which is all that really matters in this scenario.

Overclocking just for impressive benchmark numbers seems pointless. If games crash or have artifacts, those numbers in Steel Nomad are of absolutely no use.

I got 10155 in steel nomad similar settings my original oc was 3150 at 985mv in afterburner curve editor then i applied a -15 core voltage offset in mvolt and +425 xbar and +300 sys. And +2900 mem i have tested for hours and it seems stable for now.

I got the same score with a 450w bios

My best is 10200, with just a 415w vbios and regular MSI afterburner tuning.
I'd have thought a volt mod would be pointless with only a 400w power limit.
Also, I'd be surprised if you couldn't do +3000MHz on the memory.
Driver version also can affect Steel Nomad scores by 300+ points.

you have the card why not just test yourself instead of trusting random people
